内容提要
口译是国际交往活动中的一项十分重要的工作。
随着近年来中国全面走向世界,涉外事务激增,许多领域的对外交流越来越多,对于口译人才的需求因而呈急剧上升之态势。
英语作为世界上应用范围最广泛的语言,对中国的对外交流有着举足轻重的作用。
因此英汉,汉英之间的双语传译,在中国“了解别人,宣传自己”的过程中影响深远。
口译工作在我国由来已久,但相对于实践,口译理论研究工作的开展相对缓慢,这对于口译实践的升华必然造成不小的障碍,并且由于口译训练的艰巨性以及长期性,亟需正确理论的指导,因此口译理论应该与笔译理论一样有较为完备的体系,受到长期关注。
本文从一名口译爱好者在口译学习中的体会出发,结合实践经验,阐述了英汉,汉英双语传译的特点,过程,口译的技能,记忆的训练,以及如何做好笔记等诸方面口译中的常见问题,并从分析英汉两种语言的差别着手,改变思维方式来提高口译的效率,文中亦配备了大量实例,以期达到对口译思维认识的一个提高,进而更好地服务于实践。
Abstract
Interpretation,longhailedasthemostefficientwayforcross-borderexchanges,isgoingthroughaprimetimeinitshistory.Theupsurge,asremarkableasneverbefore,largelyowesitselftothesweepinggeneraltrendofglobalizationwhichiswitnessingagrowingnumberofstate-to-stateexchangesinawidespectrumofhumanlifesuchaseconomy,politics,trade,culture,tourism,tonamejustafew.ArisingChinaintheso-called“globalvillage”,withnoexception,feelstheurgentneedforabiggervoiceandinfluenceinworldaffairsthaneverbefore.Anincreasingnumberofbilinguallearners,asaresult,plungethemselvesintotherealmofinterpretationtomakepossiblecross-culturalinterflow.Despitethehugeeffortmadetothepracticeofinterpretation,however,theoreticalresearchforinterpretationinChinaisnotuptothegrowingdemand,asituationhurdlingtheprogressofinterpretationasanindependentdiscipline.
Thisthesis,basedonthewriter’smeticulousstudyandhands-onexperiencesaccumulatedininterpretation,offersasketchofwhatEnglish-ChineseandChinese-Englishinterpretationareabout.Itisalsoanattempt,throughanalysesofdistinguishabledifferencesbetweenthetwolanguages,tointroduceskillsorstrategiesthatmayfacilitatethetwo-waytrip,atripthatmayotherwisetriponewithitsproverbialtrialsandtribulations.

Inter-lingualcommunication,traditionallydividedintotranslationandinterpretation,haslongservedasabridgelinkingpeoplesofdifferentculturesandcivilizations.Quitedifferentfromtranslationthatinvolvesaformalwrittenformininter-lingualtransference,interpretationseesaspeechreproducedorallyfromasourcelanguagetoatargetoneinaninstantoftime.Knownforitsdirectnessandeffectivenessinremovinglanguagebarriers,theextemporeformoforalreproductioniswidelyadoptedinbilateraltalks,seminarsandconferences,corporatebusinessnegotiations,andpersonalcommunicationaswell.Innosmallwaydoesinterpretationhelptobridgethelinguisticgapamongpeoplesfromdifferentculturalbackgrounds.Awell-interpretedspeech,whetherforgovernmentalornon-governmentalpurposes,promotesunderstandingbetweenbothparties,lendsintimacytoarelationandevenleadstoaknowingsmilebetweens
