ThenEkmandidthesameexperimentinreverse.HeshowedpicturesofForefacestoAmericans,andtheresultsweresimilar.AmericanshadnoproblemsreadingtheemotionsontheForepeople'sfaces.Ekman'sresearchgavepowerfulsupporttothetheorythatfacialexpressionsforbasicemotionsarethesameeverywhere.HedidmoreresearchinJapan,Brazil,andArgentina,andgotthesameresults.

AccordingtoEkman,thesesixemotionsareuniversalbecausetheyarebuiltintoourbrains.Theydevelopedtohelpusdealwiththingsquicklythatmighthurtus.Someemotionaltriggersareuniversalaswell.Whensomethingsuddenlycomesintosight,peoplefeelfear,becauseitmightbedangerous.Butmostemotionaltriggersarelearned.Forexample,twopeoplemightsmellnewlycutgrass.Onepersonspentwonderfulsummersinthecountryasachild,sothesmellmakeshimhappy.Theotherpersonremembersworkingveryhardonafarmandbeinghungry,sohefeelssad.

Thereallyimportantthingisthatorganicsoundsmore“natural”.Eatingorganicisawayofdefiningoneselfasnatural,good,caring,differentfromthejunk-food-eatingmasses.
