申办中国签证须知/GUIDELINESFORCHINESEVISA

l    BriefIntroductiontoChineseVisa

AChinesevisaisapermitissuedbytheChinesevisaauthoritiestoanalienforentryinto,exitfromortransitthroughChina'sterritoryinaccordancewithChineselaws.TheChinesevisaauthoritiesshallhavethepowertoissuevisas,torefusevisaapplications,ortorevokevisas.

China'sdiplomaticmissions,consularofficesandotherresidentagenciesabroadauthorizedbytheMinistryofForeignAffairsshallbetheChineseGovernment'sagenciesabroadtohandlealiens'applicationsforChinesevisas.TheyalsohandleoverseasapplicationsforvisaorentrypermittoHongKong（SAR）.PleaserefertoGUIDELINESFORHONGKONGSARVISA/ENTRYPERMIT.

Differentcategoriesofvisa,suchasdiplomaticvisa,courtesyvisa,servicevisa,andordinaryvisa,shallbeissuedtodifferentaliensinaccordancewiththedifferentcapacitiesinwhichtheyvisitChinaandalsowiththedifferentcategoriesofpassporttheyhold.Inaccordancewithaliens'reasonsforcomingtoChina,theordinaryvisastobeissuedshallbemarkedwiththefollowingChinesephoneticletters:

C,D,F,G,J-1,J-2,L,XandZ.

IntroductionstoTourist/FamilyVisitVisa（L）,BusinessVisa（F）,EmploymentVisa（Z）,StudentVisa（X/F）andTransitVisa（G）continueasfollows.Forinformationofothervisas,pleasecontactChina'sdiplomaticmissions,consularofficesandotherresidentagenciesabroadauthorizedbytheMinistryofForeignAffairsofthePeople'sRepublicofChina.

I.    Tourist/FamilyvisitVisa（L）

LVisaisissuedtoapersonwhocomestoChinaforsightseeing,visitingrelatives,orprivatematters.Documentstobeincludedwithapplication:

1.          Applicant'spassportwithblankpagesandatleast6monthsvalidityleftbeforeexpiration.

2.          Atrulyandcompletelyfilledapplicationformaffixedwithonepassport-sizeor2x2coloredphoto,withwhitebackground,full-facefrontview,andnohat. Photomustbegluedontheapplicationform.Stapledpictureswillnotbeaccepted.Scannedphotoswillalsonotbeaccepted.

             U.S.passportholdersmustsubmittwoapplicationformswithtwophotos.

3.          Acopyoftheround-tripplaneticket

4.         Hotelreservation/invitationletterwithacopyoftheinviter'svalidchineseresidence visa andpassportinformationpageofinviter'sorChinesenationalidentitycard.

5.          PreviouslyusedChinavisainoldornewpassport（Onlyvisastickerswillbeaccepted. ThosewithstampedvisasmustsubmitadditionaldocumentsforfirsttimeChinavisaapplicants.Pleaserefertothelistbelow.）

6.           ForfirsttimeapplicantstoChina（Philippinepassportholders,18yearsoldandabove）,theyarerequiredtoprovidethefollowing:

             a）originalNBIclearancevalidfortravelabroad

              b） originalbankcertificatewithreceiptororiginalpassbook,updatedwithinthemonththatyouareapplyingor....

                                -Ifacompanywillsponsorthetrip,providethecompany'sbankcertificate,sponsorshipletterfromthecompanyandthecompany'sbusinessregistration. 

                             -Ifanindividualwillsponsorthetrip,providehisbankcertificate,sponsorshipandinvitationletter,copyofsponsor'svalidresidencevisaandpassportinformationpageorChinesenationalID.

             c）foremployedpersons,alsoprovideanemploymentcertificate,companyID,SSSIDandcontributions,TINIDandlatestITR

            d）forstudents,provideschoolID

             e）forbusinessmen,providebusinessregistrationofcompany,TINIDandlatestITR

             f） Personalappearanceisrequiredforthosewhoare16-21yearsold.

7. Theemergencycontactinformationpageintheapplicant'spassportshouldbefilledoutandphotocopied.

8.Otherdocumentsrequiredbythevisaofficersifnecessary.

II.   BusinessVisa（F）

FVisaisissuedtoapersonwhoisinvitedbyChineseauthoritiesauthorizedbytheMinistryofForeignAffairs（M.F.A）to cometoChinaforavisit,investigations,givinglectures,doingbusiness,carryingoutscientific,technicalandculturalexchanges,pursuingshort-termadvancedstudiesordoingshort-termfieldwork,foraperiodoflessthan6months.Documentstobeincludedwithapplication:

1.          Applicant'spassportwithblankpagesandatleast6monthsvalidityleftbeforeexpiration.

2.          Atrulyandcompletelyfilledapplicationformaffixedwithonepassport-sizeor2x2coloredphoto,withwhitebackground,full-facefrontview,andnohat. Photomustbegluedontheapplicationform.Stapledpictureswillnotbeaccepted.Scannedphotoswillalsonotbeaccepted.
