1.Introduction
AheadofyouisyourtimeinGermany.
WiththefollowinginformationbrochurewewanttohelpyoutomakeyourstayinWormsandyourstartataforeignuniversityeasier.
TheFachhochschuleWormswasfoundedin1977.
Rightnowaround2700studentsstudyhereinthreedifferentfaculties.Thereisonebusinessfacultywithsixprogrammesofstudy,onecomputerfacultywithfourprogramsofstudyandthefacultyoftourismandtransportation.IneachofthoseprogramsofstudyyoucanachieveaBachelordegree,insomeofthemalsoaMastersDegree.
YouarenowattendingayounguniversitywithoutthetypicalGermanacademictraditions.OurstudentsareintegratedinWorm’scitylifeandenjoyalltheadvantagesofasmalltownandauniversitywhereyouarenotpartoftheeducationalmassproduction.
TheforeignstudentsattheFHWormsarefrommorethan50differentcountriesmainlyfromwithintheEuropeanEconomicArea.
Thisbrochureisintendedtobeaplanningandorientationguideforyourstayhere,butitdoesn’tmakeanyclaimtobecomplete.IfanyproblemsariseduringyourstaydonothesitatetocontacttheAkademischeAuslandsamt(InternationalRelationsOffice).Regardingacademicissuesyourindividualfacultyistheretohelpyou.

2.Preparationforyourstay
Nomatterwhetheryourstudiesabroadarewithinanexchangeprogrammeornotdetailedplanningandorganisationarenecessary.Ideallyyoushouldbeginplanningoneyearinadvance.Duringthistime,youcanobtaininformation,forexamplefromlecturersorstudentswhohavealreadystudiedabroadandyoucanimproveyourknowledgeoftheGermanlanguage.
