   Boththeartsandprotectingtheenvironmentareimportantcauses,andbothareoftenunderfunded.Theydependongovernmentgrantsandprivatedonationsinordertocontinue.Ifacompanyweretogiveasumofmoneytooneofthesecauses,itwouldbedifficulttochoosebetweenthem.However,Ibelievethatthecompanyshouldputthemoneytowardprotectingtheenvironmentforthefollowingreasons.

First,thestateoftheenvironmentaffectseveryone,anditaffectspeopleinaveryimportantway.Ifmankinddestroystheenvironment,wewillnotbeabletosurvive.Theartsareimportanttoourqualityoflife,buttheenvironmentisimportantbothtothequalityoflifeandtolifeitself.Second,becauseindustrycausesmuchofthedamagetotheenvironment,Ibelievethatcompanieshavesomeresponsibilitytosupportconservationandcleanupefforts.Finally,protectingtheenvironmentisabiggerproblem,andsorequiresahigherleveloffundingthanthearts.Acompany’sdonationtotheartsmaybemorevisible,butonetotheprotectionoftheenvironmentwouldbemoremeaningful.
