Thisisthefirstteachingperiodofthisunit,whichintroducesstudentsto

somebasicinformationaboutCanada,itsgeography,itscultureanditspopulation.Atthebeginningoftheclass,theteachercanleadinthetopicoftheunitbyshowingstudentsamapofCanadaorotherpicturesofCanadaandletthestudentsdescribethemortalkaboutCanada.

WarmingUpisintendedtofindouthowmuchgeneralknowledgestudentsalreadyhaveaboutCanada.ItwillalsogiveachancetothosewhohavevisitedorreadaboutCanadatosharetheirknowledgewiththerestoftheclass.Soallowstudentssometimetogiveshorttalks,showphotographs,etc.andmotivateotherstobecomeinterestedinCanadatoo.
