Introduction

EveryoneinthisworldhasadreamthatheorshecanhaveanAppleproduct.Infact,Appleisnotjustviewedasatechnologyproduct,butanewconceptwhichcontinuallychangeshuman’slife.Appleisasymbolwhichstandsfordifferentandspecial.Thus,thereisaconcernthatwhomakesApplebemostattractiveallovertheworld.Theanswer,definitely,isonlyStevePaulJobs,theCEOofAppleCompany,whodidnotgraduatefromcollege,meanwhileisabusinessgeniusandaleaderwithdramaticcharm.Peopleadmirehimbecausenotonlyhisfreshproductbutthefeelingshebroughttopeopleandhisindividualglamour.

StevePaulJobs,whoistheFatherofAppleCompany,isrenownedaroundtheworld,morespecifically,isalegendofbusinessandtechnologyhistory.BillGatesoncesaid,“IwasjustSecondSteveJobs,beforeme,Apple’srapidgrowthgivestopeopleadeepimpression.”WhatmakesSteveJobsbecomesuchapowerful,passionate,andemotionalleaderinthisworld?

SteveJobswasbornin1955inSanFranciscointheUnitedStates,whowasadoptedbythekindJobscouplefromCalifornia.DuetohisparentslivednearbyinSiliconValley,SteveJobskeptonakeenonelectronics,andhehadalreadydemonstratedhispersonalitycharacteristicsofpeopleinSiliconValley-innovation,competitiveandadventurousspirit.JobswasanativeyoungpeoplewhowasthefirstgenerationofSiliconValley.Allhispersonalitycharacteristicswerecornerstoneofhisleadershipandsuccessinthefuture.

Steve’shomelocationwasagift,becauseHewlett-PackardCompany(HP)andotherelectronicscompanyengineerslivedhere.Everyweekend,someengineerswoulddotheirownmaintenanceofgarage,theyappreciatedthatlonely,eagertolearn,buthard-workingboy,SteveJobs,verymuch.Once,anengineerbroughtacarboncrystalmicrophonetohimfromlaboratory.Stevewasfascinatedwiththisdevice,andaskedmanyperceptivequestions.Later,Steveoftencametohishousetoplay,theengineerhadagoodimpressiononhim,sohegavethismicrophonetoSteveasagift.SteveJobs’stalentintheelectronicsisthesourceofhisoriginality,meanwhile,ismotivationforceforfutureinnovations.

SteveJobswasnotagoodstudentwhoalwaysobeyedrules,buthadgoodscores.Duetohisdisruptivebehaviorsanddonotcompletehomeworks(hethoughtdoingthosejobswasawasteoftime),theschoolorderedhimtoleaveschoolseveraltimes.SteveJobsneverbefrustratedbecauseofthat.Onthecontrary,hebelievedhecandoanythinghelikedbecausehehadgreatenthusiasmwithhisfavoritethings.Thisstrongself-confidencewasakeytobeapowerfulleaderwhoneverhesitateinfrontofdifficulties.

Steve,however,movedtoanewschoolattheageof11.Hisfreespiritandimmenseintelligencewentunnoticedagainstthebackdropofallcommotion,andhegrewincreasinglyunhappyandfrustrated.(JefferyS.YoungandWilliamL.Simon,2005)Thus,hesaidtohisparentsthathewouldnotcomebacktoschool.Then,hisparentsmovedagain.Attheyoungage,SteveJobshaddemostratedthathewasabletohaveenounghstrengthofwilltoconvicepeople.Thisstrongpersonalityandsingle-mindednesscanovercomeanyobstacletohisprogress,whichemergedfromhimalready.Also,suchaabilityofconvicingpeoplewasaimportanttechniqueofbeingapowerfulleader.

Inmiddleschool,SteveJobsmetSteveWozinakwhowasamathgeniusandalsointerestedinelectronics.Then,S.JobsandS.Wozinakhititoffintermsofthesameinterest.Byage16,SteveandWozcalledbySteveJobscreatedablueboxwhichisadevicecandophonephreaking,thatcanmakelong-distancephonecallallovertheworldforfree.Then,theyshowedthisdevicetotheirfriends,asaresult,everyonewasfascinatedbythisnewtechnology.Finally,thetwoStevesstartedfirstbusinessbysellingthismachine.Moreover,thepriceofthisdevicewasincreasedto300dolloarsatlast.Thisexperiencewasthebeginthathebenefitedfromhisoriginalitywhichalsocontributedtohisleadershipinthefuture.

In1972,SteveJobsconvicedhisparentsandenteredReedCollege,buthedropedouttheschoolafterfisrtsixmonthsbecausehewantedtostudywhathewasreallyinterestedinandsavesuchanexpensivetuitionfee.Hetrustinhimselfthathecanfindwhatinterestedhimanditwouldworkoutperfectly.SteveJobs,asaleader,alwanysmadedecisionfirmlyduetohisgreatself-confidenceandwisejudements..

Duetotheaffectionofelectronics,SteveandWozoftenstudiedpersonalcomputersintheirgarage.Theydreamedtohaveanowncomputer,butthecomputersinthemarket,atthattime,arecommercial,largesizeandextremelyexpensive.Therefore,theydecidedtodeveloppersonalcomputers.Justafewweekslater,acomputerwithunattractiveappearance-theworld’sfirstpersonalcomputer,AppleI,wasborn.

In1976,SteveJobsandWozsetuptheAppleCompany,startedtooperatepersonalcomputerbusiness.Withtherapiddevelopmentofcompany,theycreatedAppleSecond,whichissmallandeasytouse.AppleCompanyprofitedfromthisremarkablemachine,andwenttopublicduetothesuccessofAppleSecond.SteveJobsstartedtodevelophisinnovationleadershipfromthenon.

WiththesuccessofNeXTComputerCompanyandtherapiddevelopmentofPixarAnimationCompany,SteveJobswasbacktopeople’sattention.Withtheacquisition,hereturnedtoApplein1996asCEOandhelpedApplegothroughthefinancialcrisis.Fromthattimeon,theriseofAppletechnologybeganwiththelaunchofaseriesofmarketwinningproductsandhisrevolutionincompanyandboldinnovationswhichmadeAppledominatetheleadingpositionintheworld.
