ThetexttellsofastupiderrorwhichresultsinadiscouragingthingthatnoextraterrestrialswilleverlandontheEarth.ThestorybeginswiththeintroductionofhecharacterofBartCameron,theSheriffatTwinGulch,Idacho,whoisaquick-temperedandimpatientperson.Onthatspecialday,April14,1956,theauthorseestheflyingsaucer.Butjustbecauseoftheextraterrestrials’tooformalEnglishandBart’stoobadmoodthatday,BartCameronmisunderstandstheextraterrestrialsonceandtimeagain.Finally,theyflybacktoVenus.Thereforewearenevergoingtohavevisitorsfromspace

2.Venus:

thesecondmajorplanetinorderofdistancefromtheSun.AlsoknownasHesperus,Theeveningstar（黄昏星）,orPhosphorus,themorningstar（启明星）,VenuscanbethebrightestobjectintheskyaftertheSunandMoonandfollowsanear-circularpathsome106millionkilometersfromtheSun,taking225daystocompleteoneorbit.

4.spaceexploration:

In1903theRussianphysicistKonstantinTsiolkovskywasdevelopingideasforspacerocketsfuelledbyliquefiedgasandby1926RobertGoddardintheUSAhadsuccessfullydesignedthefirstliquidfuelledrocket.TherefollowedconsiderableGermanresearchintorockets,culminatinginthelaunchoftheV-2rocketin1944.In1957theSovietUnionsurprisedtheUSAbyputtingthefirstartificialsatellite,SputnikI,inorbit.ThiswasfollowedbytheUSExploreIin1958.YuriGagarinwasthefirstmaninspacein1961,followedbyJohnGlennin1962.In1961PresidentKennedyproposedtheApolloprogrammetoachieveamannedlunarlandingby1970,andin1969NeilArmstrongandEdwin（“Buzz”）Aldrinlandedonthemoon.TheSovietUnionconcentratedonunmannedflights,LunaIXachievingasoftlandingonthemoonin1966.Intheearly1970sspacestationswerelaunchedbyboththeUSAandtheSovietUnion,andin1975anApollocapsulelinkedupwithaSovietSoyuzcapsule.UnmannedflightshavebeenmadetoVenusandMars,whiletheUSprobe,Voyager2,launchedin1977,reachedNeptunein1989.In1981theUSAlaunchedaspaceshuttle,thefirstreusablespacecraft,butitscommercialandscientificprogrammewasinterruptedfortwoyearsbytheexplosionoftheshuttle,Challenger,onlife-offin1986.In1986thegiantSovietmodularspacestation,Mir,waslaunchedwithastronautsbeingferriedtothestationbySoyuzspacecraft,followedin1987bytheplacinginspaceofthepowerfulEnergiyastation.In1987,SovietcosmonautYuriRomanenkosetaspaceendurancerecordof326daysinorbit.TheHubblespacetelescope,whichcanproduceimagesofothersolarsystems,waslaunchedfromUSshuttlein1990.ItsfaultymirrorlimitedobservationsuntilitwasrepairedbyastronautsinthespaceshuttleEndeavorin1993.Aninternationalspacestation,Freedom,conceivedbytheUSAin1984,becameoperationalinthe1990s.Spacetechnologyhasresultedinnumerousapplications,andtelecommunicationsatelliteshavegreatlyimprovedglobalcommunications;whilemeteorologicalsatellitesprovideadvanceweatherinformation,andreconnaissancesatellitesregistertheearth’sresourcesandmilitaryinformation.

OurknowledgeoftheSun,planets,naturalsatellites,andcometsinthesolarsystem,aswellastheinterplanetarymedium,hasbeengreatlyadvancedinrecentyearsbytheMariner,Venera,Pioneer,andVoyagerseriesofspacecraft.Morerecently,spaceexplorationisbeingextendedbythelaunchingofartificialsatellitesintoEarthorbitcarryingadvancedtechnologicalpackagestofurtherourastronomicalknowledgeofthewideruniverse.

5.theCongress:

TheCongressisoneofthethreebranchesoftheUSfederalgovernment,thelegislativebranch.Congresshastwohouses,theSenateandtheHouseofRepresentatives.ThemainjobofCongressismakinglaws.Beforeanewlawcanbemade,bothhouseshavetopassit,anditmustthenhavetheapprovalofthePresident.Inasystemofgovernmentbasedonaseriesofchecksandbalances,thetwohousesofcongressactasacheckoneachother,aswellastogetherformingacheckonthepowersoftheexecutivebranch,especiallythePresident.

ThejudicialbranchisoneofthethreebranchesofUSfederalgovernmentandoperatesthesystemoflawcourts.TheSupremeCourtinWashington,D.C.isthehighestcourtintheUS,andisverypowerful.Ithasnicejudges,calledjustices.Traditionally,theyarecalledthemineoldmen,althoughtherehasbeenonewomanjustice.TheheadofthecourthasthetitleofChiefJusticeoftheUnitedStates.JusticesarebythePresident,althoughtheSenatemustgiveitsapprovaltothechoice.TherehasbeenonlyoneAfrican-Americanjustice.
