Now,“Myoldroommate”—thepersonIusedtoshareanapartmentwith—”usedtoliketheterriblebuzzeryoufindonmostalarmclocks.”This,again,istrue.Ihadaroommatethathadaveryloudandbadsoundingbuzzer;itwasaterriblebuzzer.Thebuzzer,“buzzer,”iswhenthealarmclockdoesn'tplaymusic,butitjustplaysasound.Sometimesitislikeabellringing;that'sthebuzzer.Well,thisbuzzer“alwaysusedtodrivemenuts.”Todrivesomeonenuts,“nuts,”meanstodrivethemcrazy—tomakethemcrazy—tomakethemgocrazy.

Icontinuethestorybysaying,“AsIwassaying.”Weusethatexpression,asIwassaying,whenwearetalkingaboutonethingthenwestarttalkingabouta

secondthing,andnowwewanttogobackandtalkaboutthefirstthingagain.

So,whenyouinterruptyourselfwhenyouaretalking,andthenyouchangethe

topic—changewhatyouaretalkingabout—andthenwanttogobacktoyour

originaltopic,yousay,“AsIwassaying.”

“AsIwassaying,Isometimeswakeupbeforethealarm,usuallybecauseof

somenoiseoutsidethehouse.”Whenwesaythereissomenoise—some
