Civilengineeringiskeytoeconomicandsocialstabilitythroughouttheworldandcivilengineeringeducationisaimedatproducingprofessionalswhoplan,design,constructandmanagelarge-scalepublicworksandamenitiesthatunderpinsociety.HereatPortsmouth,ourcoursesaredesignedtoproducegraduateswhocan:

•useacombinationofgeneralandspecialistcivilengineeringknowledgeandunderstandingtoapplyexistingandemergingtechnology

•applyappropriatetheoreticalandpracticalmethodstodesign,develop,construct,commission,operateandmaintain（asappropriate）civilengineeringproducts,processes,systemsandservices

•providetechnicalandcommercialmanagementintheconstructionindustry

•demonstrateeffectiveinterpersonalskillsandapersonalcommitmenttoprofessionalstandards

•recognisingobligationstosociety,theprofessionandtheenvironment

OurcoursesareaccreditedbytheInstitutionofCivilEngineers（ICE）andInstitutionofStructuralEngineers（IStructE）andrecognisedbytheInstitutionofHighwaysandTransportation（IHT）assatisfyingtheeducationalbaserequiredofcharteredengineersundertheUnitedKingdomStandardforProfessionalEngineeringCompetence（UK-SPEC）.TheDepartmentmaintainsexcellentlinkswiththeseprofessionalbodiesandregularlyupdatesandadvisesstudentsonmattersrelatingtotheirprogresstoprofessionalstatus.

土木工程

土木工程对于全世界的经济及社会稳定而言都具有至关重要的意义。

土木工程教育的宗旨是培养大量能够致力于大规模造福社会的公共工程及美化设施的规划、设计、建造及管理的专业人才。

在朴次茅斯,我们设计的课程培养出的毕业生将能够:

使用一般及专业土木工程知识的综合能力并将其运用到现有和新兴技术上

运用恰当的理论及实践方法设计、开发、建造、委托、操作及维护（适当的）土木工程产品、工序、系统及服务

提供建筑业技术管理及商业管理

展现有效的人际交往技巧以及个人对专业标准的理解

承担对社会、职业及周围环境应尽的义务

我系的课程已得到了土木工程师学会（ICE）及英国结构工程师学会（IStructE）的许可。

我系的课程还符合英国职业工程技能标准（UK-SPEC）对注册工程师教育背景的要求，因而获得英国高速公路运输研究所（IHT）的认可。

我系保持着与这些专业权威机构的良好关系并且积极提升我们的专业水平,同时还针对学生在学业进步及职业现状方面向其提出合理建议。

Computing

Ourcomputingandinformationsystemscoursescoverthefullspectrumofcomputerscience,softwareengineering,informationsystemsandsciences,andcomputerapplications.Theyinvolveeverythingfromthedesignanddevelopmentofsoftware,hardware,managementinformationsystems,networksandspecialisedsystems,totheuseofPCsandothercomputerequipmentinawidevarietyoffieldsandspecialismssuchasdigitalforensicsandartificialintelligence.

Weofferanextensiverangeofflexibleandcomplementarycourses,whichallowourstudentsto:

•developtheirskillsascompetentproblemsolversandcreativesolutiondevelopers

•developup-to-the-minuteknowledgeofallthelatesttechnicalideasandinnovations

•examinetheimpactofcomputingtechnologyontheworkenvironmentandsocietyatlarge

•buildupskillsinthemanagementanddevelopmentoflargesystems,includingweb-basedandinternetenvironments

计算机系

我系计算机及信息系统课程涵盖了计算机科学、软件工程、信息系统及科学、以及计算机应用的全部领域，涉及到从软件设计及开发、硬件、管理信息系统、网络及专业系统，到包括数字取证和人工智能在内的多个领域及专业的个人计算机及其它计算机设备的应用。

我系通过全面提供灵活多样的补充课程从而使学生得以：

充分发展专业技能，成为优秀的问题解决高手及有创造性的开发人员

掌握所有当前技术及创新领域的最新知识

了解计算机科技对工作环境及社会的全面影响

培养包括网页及互联网环境在内的大系统管理及开发技能

成为包括如移动电话及掌上电脑在内的最新移动平台的软件及计算机辅助设备的不同形式的使用及开发方面的专家
