【点拨】talent为名词,意为"天分,天赋,才华"。

这三个名词均可表示人的"能力,才能",但侧重点不同:

②genius语气最强,指个人的天赋才能与智力。

2.affect,effect和influence用法辨析:
这三个词都可意为"影响",但作用和侧重点各有不同:
①affect为动词,主要指短暂的影响。

②effect多作名词,haveaneffecton相当于affect。
如:
Becarefulwithyourwords.Theywillhaveagreateffectonthechildren.
③influence既可作名词也可作动词,主要指对行为、性格、观点等产生间接的或潜移默化的影响。

◆●■when,while和as引导的时间
状语从句
when,while和as都可以引导时间状语从句,意为"当……"。
当从句动作和主句动作同时发生,且从句动作为延续性动词时,when,while和as都可使用。
这里
我们主要讲解一下它们的用法区别:
1.when可以和延续性动词连用,也可以和短暂性动词连用,而while和as只能和延续性动词连用;when从句的谓语动作可以在主句谓语动作之前、之后或同时发生,而while和as从句的谓语动作一般是和主句谓语动作同时发生。
如:
Iwaswashingclotheswhenyoucalledmelastnight.(call为短暂性动词)
Thejournaliststooknotesastheylistenedtothereport.(listen为延续性动词)
Whenhehadfoundthebookhetookadeepbreath.(found先发生)
WhenIgottotheairportmyfriendhadalreadyleft.(got后发生)
2.当强调伴随状态,意为"随着……;一边……一边……"时,一般用as。
如:
Astimewentby,thetwostrangersbecamefamiliarwitheachother.
3.在将来时态的从句中,常用when,从句须用一般现在时表将来。
如:
WhenIarriveinLondonnextweekIwillcontactyou.
◆●■过去完成时
1.过去完成时的构成:
助动词had+过去分词,其否定形式为had+not+过去分词。
2.过去完成时的用法:
1)表示在过去某一时刻或某一动作之前已经完成了的动作(即"过去的过去")或表示从过去某一时刻开始一直延续到另一过去时刻的动作或状态,常与by,for,before,since或由after,before,since,when,bythetime等引导的时间状语从句连用。
如:
JackhadleftforNewYorkbyteno’clock.
BythetimeIgotthere,thegamehadalreadyended.
2)表示未曾实现的希望或打算,主要用于plan,hope,want,expect,think,suppose等动词,意为"原打算(希望、想要)……,但……"。
如:
IhadplannedtovisitKateafterclass,buttheheavyrainstoppedme.
Wehadthoughttoreturnearly,buttheywouldn’tletusgo.
3)用于某些特殊句型中。
如:
①Itwasthefirst/second...timethat...中that从句的谓语动词要用过去完成时。
意为"这是第一/二……次做……"。
如:
Thiswasthesecondtimehehadbeenheretohelp.
②Itwas...since...后从句的谓语动词要用过去完成时,意为"自从……已经……"。
如:
ItwasthreemonthssinceIhaddoneapart-timejobinthatshop.
③nosooner...than...主句中要用过去完成时,从句中常用一般过去时,意为"刚……就……"。
如:
Wehadnosoonersetoutthanathunderstormbroke.
④hardly...when...的主句中要用过去完成时,从句中常用一般过去时,意为"一……就……"。
