AsthisismylastChairsreportforArea4RidingClubsIwilltryandkeepitshortandtothepoint.Ihavebeenonthiscommitteefornineyears,beingtheChairforthepast8years,aswellasbeenViceChair,TreasurerandCompetitionsSecretaryatsomepoint.
Ihaveenjoyedbeinginthehotseat,evenwhenthingshavenotquitegonetoplan.MysaddesttimeshavebeenwhenIhavehadtoinformcompetitorsthattheyareeliminatedduetotheirhorse’svaccinationcerts.notbeencorrect.ThisoccursatnearlyeverycompetitionandreallythisshouldnotoccurastheyshouldhavebeencheckedbytheirRidingClubs,eventhelastminutereplacements.
Workingwithmanylikemindedpeoplehasgottobethehighlightofmytimehere.
IhavesaidinpreviousmeetingsthatyouhaveaverygoodselectionofpeopleelectedasOfficersonthiscommittee:

WiththepressurefromHeadOfficecreatingnewercompetitionsand/orextraclassesattheexistingshowswearealwaystryingtomakethingsworkbetterforourmembers.Ofcoursewecannotalwayspleaseeveryoneanditissadthatsomeclubs:

Butalwaysverypleasingwhenweseeyourmemberscompetingandenjoyingthemselves.

WehavebeenrepresentedatChampionshipsbymostofourClubsand
althoughwemaywellnotallhavebeensuccessful,Area4stillhasNationalChampions.Iwishourmemberswellfornextyearscompetitions.

dressagetrophiesisnamedinherhonour.

hasmanagedtosecuretheRetrainingOfRacehorsecompetitionandwillbepresenting
awardslater.

2014hadbeenadifficultyear;
RicharddeservedabigthankyouforensuringtheSummerShowranafterlosingourvenueatthelastminute.Howeverthisdidresultinanetlossofexpenditureoverincome.TheDTMwasranseparatelyforthefirsttimeandalthoughpopularwithcompetitors,italsolostmoney.

LydiapointedoutthatHQgetalotmoreprelimentryfeesfromourareaincomparisontosmallerareas.Thegeneralfeelofthemeetingisthatwearebeingpenalisedintheamountofqualifierswegetcomparedtoentriestaken.MaryremindedusthatChampionshipstooarerunbyvolunteersandalongerdayatChampionshipsisunlikelytobepopular.
Itwasaskedthatqualificationcouldbepro-rata,butwithmostareassendingonly1team,itwouldleadtoalongerday.
