thesafetyandefficacy(功效)ofdrugsandsupplements,theFDArecentlyissuedastatementregardingso-called“cures”forAlzheimer’s.Theorganizationsent12warninglettersandfiveonlineadvisoryletterstocompaniesinboththeUnitedStatesandabroadbecausetheyillegallysoldupwardsof58productsbeingmarketedasaidsinthefightagainstthedisease.

Onecompany,EarthTurns,receivedawarningletterforitsmisleadingstatementsayingthatgreenteacanfightAlzheimer’s.Besides,thecompanyalsosellsaproductcalledCogni-Flex,claimingthatitworksjustasAlzheimer’sdrugs,butmorenaturallyandwithoutanysideeffect.However,theFDApointsoutthatthereiszeroevidenceforthisclaimandthatit’sdangerouslymisleadingforpatientsandtheircaretakers.
