Abstract.Inrecentyears,withqualityeducationattachedgreatimportanceto,familyeducationhasbecomeahottopicofsocialconcern.ThereareobviousdifferencesinfamilyeducationbetweenChinaandWesterncountries.ForChinaandtheUnitedStates,differentconceptsofeducationandthewaysofeducating,resultedintheobviousdifferencewhentheirchildrenhasgrownup.ThearticleattemptstoanalyzethedifferencesinChineseandWesternfamilyeducation,andthecausesofformingthedifferences.Besides,itprovidesaconducivefamilyeducationalrecommendations.

Introduction.
Familyeducationindicatestheinfluencetothedevelopmentofchildrenintheprocessofcommunicatingbetweenparentsandachild.Itisalsothemostimportantoneamongallthewaysofeducation.Inviewofmanydifferencesinculture,economy,familybackground,educatedways,henceitresultsintheobviousdifferenceinfamilyeducationbetweenChinaandWesterncountries.Torecognizethefactcorrectlywillpromotethedevelopmentoffamilyeducationinourcountry.ForChinesefamilies,whattheyfocusonis“order”and“obedience”,whiletheypayattentionto“fairness”and“freedom”inWest.Chineseparentsaredominatorswhocontroltheirchildren,thuswhatthechildrenonlydoistoacceptallthearrangedthingssubmissively.Parentsalwaysdecidetheirchildren’snaturaldevelopment.Consequently,theyhavedeprivedoffreeagencyofchildren.However,inWesterncountries,parentsoftenfocusonchildren’sdecision-makingpower.Underthepermittedcircumstancesbysociety,childrenisallowedtheproblemtheyhavemet.
