ABSTRACTInthe21stcentury,facingwithculturaldiversity,economicintegrationand
lifelong-education,Englishasaninternationalcommoncommunicationtoolhasbeen
widelyused.MoreandmoreschoolsandparentshavepaidattentiontoEnglish
spokenability.ThetimeatjuniormiddleschoolisthefoundationstageofEnglish
learningandalsoisthecriticalperiodofcultivatingstudents'
abilitiesinlistening,
speaking,readingandwriting.WithChinacontactingothercountriesmoreandmore
frequently,cultivatingEnglishspokenabilityinbasiceducationbecomesmoreand
moreimportantIntheteaching,theauthoralsoattachedimportancetostudents'
oralEnglish
expressionandcommunicationability.HoweveratajuniormiddleschoolofJinan
citywheretheauthortaught,theeffectoforalEnglishteachingwasnotobvious.In
Septemberof2010,theauthorgreetedtwoclassesofnewstudentsinGradeSevenThroughonesemester'
sobservation,theauthorfoundthattheygenerallyheldpoor
oralEnglishlevels.Theauthor'
sschoolislocatedinurban-ruralcombinedzoneand
theprimaryschoolsarounditwithunevenEnglishteachinglevels.Thestudents'
Englishperformancehadlargedifferenceafterenteringthemiddleschool.Thetime
inGradeSevenisthefoundationstageofcultivatingEnglishspokenability,butour
