IfirstmetmytruefriendXuFangoneJuneafternoonin2005.Thatafternoonshecametomeforsomeinformationforherreport.

Afewdayslater,Icalledheraninvitehertoadinner.Shecame.Andwetalkedmuchoverthedinner.

Fromthenonwestartedtoseeeachotherveryoften.Ifoundthatshewasreallynice.Sheispretty,attractive,considerateandintelligent.Icametolikeher.

Wemanagetomeettwiceorthreetimesaweek.Wehavelotstosayandtodowhenwearetogether.

XuandIaretruefriendsandweshallbegoodfriendsforever.

MysisterandIwerefriends.Bestfriends.Whereshewent,Iwent.WhereIwent,shewent.Togetherwehaditall.Laughter,friendshipandtears.Thelastthingweneededwasanothersister.Enter:

mymother’snewboyfriend.AlongcameJenna—theboyfriend’sdaughter.Jennawasroughlythesameageasus.Perhapsafewyearsyounger,butthatreallydidn’tmatter.MysisterandI:

wedidn’tneedanothersister,butmostlywedidn’twantanothersister.Afterallwehadeachotherandthatwasplenty.

AtfirstweonlysawJennaonceinawhile,butasourparent’scourted(求爱)wesawhermoreandmore.Wehatedthis.Wedidn’twanttoshareourcookiesandBarbiedollswiththisstranger.Besideswhywouldwe?

Lastyear,therehadbeenanotherlittlegirl.HerDaddytoldusthathelovedourmotherandonetimeintheyardhetoldmysisterandItoholdhandswithhislittlegirlwhilehetookapicture.Afterwardshelaughedandsaid:

“thethreesistersonthelawn.”Weneversawhimagain.

AndthanallofasuddenJennaandherdadstartedstayingover.Sometimesitwasplanned.Sometimesitwasunexpected.Outcametheblanketsandtheextrapillowsandsuddenlytherewasastrangersleepingonthefloorofmypinkbedroom.Jennaneversaidmuch.Shejustsleptandthenextmorningshewouldgohome.MymotherneveraskedmewhetherIobjected.

Thantheydiscussedmovingintogether.Itneverhappened.Mymotherexplainedthattherewasbaggage.Hehadtwochildren.Shehadthree.Itwasjusttooplicated.Insteadweallmovedtothesamestreet.Therewereexactly16housesbetweentheirhouseandourhouse.Ilikedourhousemuchbetter.

SometimeswewouldstayatJenna’shouse.Ididn’tliketheirhouse.Allthefurnitureandeventhecarpetwasblue.MysisterandIwouldsleepinJenna’sroomandplaywithJenna’stoys.Ilikedhertoys.EspeciallyherBarbieHorse.Ihadneverseenanythinglikeit.Itlookedsoreal.

Thatsummerweallwentonvacationtogether.Camping.Allofusinonebigtent.Itwassomuchfun.Whoeverwouldlaythetableinthemorningwouldgetanextraicecreamthatday.Justimagine:

twoicecreamsinoneday.Oneafternoonweallwenttothezoo.MysisterandIlikedthemonkeys.SodidJenna.Webecamefriends.

Whenschoolstartedthatfall,wewouldmeetJennaafterwardsandplaytogether.Notbecauseherdadorourmomtoldusto,butbecausewewantedto.Sometimeswewouldplaywithourmarbles,othertimesweplayedwithourdolls.JennawouldalwaysletmeplaywithherBarbieHorse.Wewereafterallalmostsisters.
