Afterhisfather’sdeathin1847,MarkTwainbegantoworkforaprinter,whoonlyprovidedhimwithfoodandclothing.Thenheworkedasaprinter,ariver-boatpilot(领航员)andlaterjoinedthearmy.Butshortlyafterthathebecameaminer.Duringthisperiod,hestartedtowriteshortstoried.Afterwardshebecameafull-timewriter.
In1870,MarkTwaingotmarried.IntheyearsthatfollowedhewrotemanybooksincludingTomSawyerin1876,andHuckleberryFilmin1884,whichmadehimfamous,andbroughthimagreatfortune.
Unfortunately,MarkTwaingotintodebtsinbadinvestmentsandhehadtowritelargenumbersofstoriestopaythesedebts.In1904,hiswifedied,andthenthreeoftheirchildrenpassedaway.
Attheageof70,hishairwascompletelywhite.Heboughtmanywhitesuitsandneckties(领带).HeworenothingbutwhitefromheadtofootuntilhisdeathonApril21,1910.
