Abstract:

Inrecentyears,moreandmorepeoplebecomefascinatedaboutbusinessEnglish,whichisthecombinationofbusinessandEnglish.ManycollegesanduniversitieshavesetupvariouscoursesaboutbusinessEnglish.ButtherearesomeproblemsintheteachingofbusinessEnglish.Forexample,studentshavealittleinterestinlearningbusinessEnglish.Theexperientiallearningtheorymakeslanguageteachingbecomeinteresting.Itemphasizesstudent’simportantlearningroleandassociateslearningcontentswithstudents’dailylearningprocesses.Therefore,theapplicationofexperientiallearningtheoryinbusinessEnglishteachingcanincreasestudents’learninginterestsandmaketeachersgetmorelearningachievements.ThispapermakesthestudyontheapplicationofexperientiallearningtheoryinbusinessEnglishteaching.ThewritingpurposeofthispaperistomakethereaderlearnabouttheexperientiallearningtheoryanditsapplicationinbusinessEnglishteaching.Thispaperwillalsobringsomebenefitstothefuturestudies.

摘要:

近些年来,许多人开始重视商务英语。

它是一门由商务和英语结合起来的课程,目前很多高校都开设了商务英语相关课程。

但是在商务英语的教学过程中还存在一些问题。

例如学生学习兴趣不高等。

体验式教学理论使语言教育变得生动有趣,它强调学生学习的主体地位,把学习内容与学生的日常学习过程结合起来。

因此,体验式教学法能增加学生的学习兴趣并使教师达到更高的教学效果。

本文研究了体验式教学理论在商务英语教学中的应用,其目的是为了使读者了解体验式教学理论及其在商务英语教学中的应用情况并能对今后的研究提供一些帮助。

1.Introduction

BusinessEnglishisonekindofEnglishwhichisusedforspecificpurpose.Accordingtoitscontents,businessEnglishcanbedividedintotwotypes:

generalbusinessEnglishandspecificbusinessEnglish.TheformerisfrequentlyappliedinsomecommonbusinessEnglishactivitiesincludingansweringbusinesscall,receivingforeignvisitors,accommodationservice,requestingquotationaswellascompanyintroduction.Andthelateronemainlyreferstovariousmoreprofessionalbusinessfields.Theword“BusinessEnglish”firstappearsinthe1950’s,anditiswidelyusedallaroundtheworldsincethen.ChineseenterpriseshavemetmanychallengesandopportunitiesafterChinajoiningtheWTO.Chineseenterprisesneedmoretalentswhoarewellinformedaboutinternationaltradeforeconomicglobalization.Therefore,BusinessEnglishcourseshavebeenofferedinmoreandmoreschools.However,thereexistsomeproblemsinthepresentbusinessEnglishteaching.

Foralongtime,Englisheducationisshroudedintheshadowoftheexam-orientededucationinourcountry.ManystudentshavelearnedEnglishforyearsorevendecades,buttheycannotreadEnglishbooksorcommunicatewithforeignersverywell.Theexperientiallearningtheorymakeslanguageteachingbecomeinteresting.Itemphasizesstudent’simportantlearningroleandassociateslearningcontentswithstudents’dailylearningprocessesclosely.Itgivesstudentsanopportunitytoexperiencetheprocessofunderstanding,applyingandacquiringknowledge.Languageacquisitionisthepracticeoftwo-waycommunicationwithothers.ThetraditionalEnglishlearningisaonewaycommunicationthatstudentsjustlistentotheteacher’swordsbutnottalktotheteacher.Theexperientiallearningtheorypaysmoreattentiontostudents’ownwords.Itmakesatwo-waycommunicationaboutstudentstotheteacherandtheteachertothestudents.Besides,theexperientiallearningtheoryalsolaysemphasisonsetupanenvironmentthatsuitforlearning.BusinessEnglishneedslearnerstolearnknowledgeinthebusinessEnglishsituationandcommunicatewitheachother.Itshouldachievethefunctionoflanguagecommunication.Forthisreason,theexperientiallearningtheorywillhelptheteachertocreatealearningenvironmentforstudents’communication.BusinessEnglisheducationsystemandpatternshouldadapttothedevelopingmarkettoday.Anditemphasizestheimportanceofapplicationofknowledgeandskills.Theexperientiallearningtheoryisanavailablyteachingmethodtha
