Today,papercut-outsarechieflydecorative.Theydecoratewalls,windows,doors,columns,mirrors,lampsandlanternsinhomesandarealsousedonpresentsoraregivenasgiftsthemselves.Entrancesdecoratedwithpapercut-outsaresupposedtobringgoodluck.Papercut-outsusedtobeusedaspatterns,especiallyforembroidery(刺绣).
