Withthedevelopmentofglobalization,thecontactwiththeworldhasbecomemoreandmorefrequent.Aswegoaboutourdailylives,wedonothaveagreatsenseofourculture’sinfluence.Cultureexistseverywherearoundusbetweendifferentnationsanddifferentcountries,soBusinessEnglishisanecessityandweattachgreatimportancetoitsteachingandlearningincorrespondencewiththesocialdevelopment.Forthesakeofsatisfyingtheneedforbusinesstalents,lotsofcoursesconcerningBusinessEnglishhavebeensetinmanyuniversities.However,BusinessEnglishonthewaytosatisfypeopleatpresent.

Internationalbusinessconsistsofbusinesstransactionsbetweenpartiesfrommorethanonecountry,Examplesofinternationalbusinesstransactionsincludebuyingmaterialsinonecountryandshipthemtoanotherforprocessingorassembly,shippingfinishedproductsfromonecountrytoanotherforretailsale,buildingaplantinaforeigncountrytocapitalizeonlowerlaborcosts,orborrowingmoneyfromonebankinonecountrytofinanceoperationsinanother.

2.2ConnotationofBusinessEnglish

Itisnotconvenientforpeoplewithoutcommunication.Communicationiseverywhere.OnlytrainanumberofproficiencyinbusinessEnglishtalenttomeetthesocialdemandforEnglishtalent.Especiallybusinessmenhaveencounteredpeoplefromallaroundtheworldsincethebeginningofthetime.AndtheSilkRoadhasjustestablishedatypicalexampleofcross-culturalcommunication.

Successfullycommunicatingwithsomeonefromdifferentcultureordifferentcountrieswhichisverydifficulttoourhumanrequiresadegreeofcommunicationcompetence.Mostmodelsofcommunicationcompetenceincludeanaffectiveandbehavioralcomponent,whichisessentialincross-culturalcommunication.

Withtherapiddevelopmentofmodernsocialeconomy,theinterestofcrossculturalcommunicationisincreasing.Theimpactofallaspectsofculturehasalsoincreasedsignificantly.Yetmostofourthoughts,emotions,andbehaviorsareprofoundlyaffectedbydifferentcultures.

3.TheEffectsofCulturalFactorsinEnglishCommunication

3.1InconformityinCulturalInformation

Thebusinessnegotiationisnotonlycommunicationandcooperationbetweenthetwopartieswhichbasedonitowneconomicbenefits,butalsocollisionandcommunicationbetweendifferentcultures.DefinitionofbusinessEnglishbusinessEnglishistheworldbigmarkettheproductoftheformationanddevelopment.Therefore,itiscrucialtounderstandtheculturefactorininternationalbusinessnegotiationsandtoknowfurthernegotiationstylesofbusinessinvariousplaces.

Becauseofthedifferencesinhistoricaltradition,politicalinstitution,economiccondition,culturalbackground,customsandvaluesamongdifferentcountries.Itisparticularlytruewheninternationalbusinessnegotiationstakeplacebetweendifferentcountriesanddifferentnationalities.Everynegotiatorbeforethedeskrootedwithitsownculture.Thus,asagoodnegotiator,weshouldbefamiliarwiththeculturedifferencesofeachcountryandalsotheirculturalbackground,especiallytheirverbalornonverbalhabits,values,wayofthoughts,wayofactionsandpsychologicalcharacteristicsinordertomakefullprepqarationandtoachievemoreinterest.Let’stakewesterncountriesandChinaforexample:

Nowadays,moreandmoreorganizationsandenterprisesaregettinginvolvedinbusinesscommunicationacrosscultures,betweencultures,andamongcultures.AlthoughthedevelopmentofcontemporaryChinesecultureisdiversesymbiotic,butitissuchadiversesymbiosisofdevelopmentbutisforthedevelopmentofsocialistadvancedculturedirection.Duringthecourseofdoingbusiness,theyneedbefluentinBusinessEnglishindispensably,buttheyarenecessarilyconcernedinbusinessnegotiation.Asamatteroffact,businesscommunicationisinterculturalcommunication.Inordertocommunicatewithanotherculture,youhavetocometotermswithitsomehow.AsScottsuggests,“Effectiveinternationalbusinessskillsarethebackbonethatsupportsthetransactionofbusinessaroundtheworld”.saresult,teachersandstudentsshouldputahighervaluationontheincreaseoftheabilityofcross-culturalcommunicationinthecourseofteachingandlearning.

4.2Discrepanciesincustomsandhabits

Thereexistmuchdiversityindifferentcultureduetotheperformativeformsandjudgingstandardsofcourtesy.Basictoeverysocietyisitssocialstructure,theoverallframeworkthatdeterminestherolesofindividualsinthesociety,thestratificationofthesociety,andindividual’smobilitywithinthesociety.Therefore,wehavetounderstandtheculturaldifferenceswhenwecommunicatewithpeoplefromdifferentculturalbackground.Atthesametime,weshouldtrainourlanguagecapacityandcommunicativecapacity.Inaddition,wecancompareEnglishwithourmothertongue,andbeawareoftheirsimilaritiesanddifference.Yetmostofourthoughts,emotions,andbehaviorsareprofoundlyaffectedbydifferentcultures.Onlyinthiswaycanweselecttheappropriatelanguagestructuresandexpressionandavoidpragmaticfailureincross-culturecommunication.
