Thiscourseconsistsoflessonsthataregroupedintounits.Asyoubegineachunit,notethetitlesofthelessonsthatcomprisethatparticularunit.Thiswillenableyoutogainanunderstandingofthegeneralsubjectbeingexploredandtodeterminehowthelessonsrelatetooneanother.Eachlessonbeginswithabriefintroduction,whichwillhelpyouputthematerialincontextandmakeiteasiertoknowwhat’sahead.

ThiscoursecontainsUnitExamsthatcanbefoundattheendofeachUnit.Theseexamsaretobetakenafteryouhavestudiedalllessonsintheunit.Markyouranswerstotheexamquestionsontheenclosedanswersheetslocatedafterthisintroduction.Remembertocompletetheinformationatthetopofeachanswersheetyouuse.Writethecoursenumber,courserevisioncode,examtype,andexamnumber.ItisnecessarytosubmitUnitExamsforgradingaftercompletingeachunit.TheUniversitywillgradetheexamsthenreturntheresultstoyouinatimelymanner.
WhencompletingtheUnitExams,youmayuseyourtextbooksandotheravailablereferencematerialforassistance.ItisimportantyouputforthyourbesteffortwhentakingtheseUnitExams.Thescoresyouearnontheseexamswillbefactoredintoyourfinalgradeforeachcourse.Youwillnotbegivenanopportunitytoimproveyourgradebyretakingtheunitexam.Sincetheseexamsareopen-bookandnotimeconstraintsareimposed,youhaveanopportunitytocheckanddouble-checkyouranswers.Youshouldnotsendintheanswersheetsuntilyouareconfidentyouhaveansweredallthetestitemscorrectly.
DonotscheduleyourFinalExamuntilyouhavesuccessfullycompletedallUnitExams.YoumustreviewtheresultsofyourUnitExamsandcorrectanyquestionsyoumayhavemissed.ThepurposeofthisexerciseistohelpprepareyoufortheFinalExam.WhenyouarereadytotaketheFinalExam,pleasesubmittherequestformlocatedafterthisintroduction.

KeepinmindthatthepurposeforcorrectingyourerrorsontheUnitExamsistoensureyouunderstandthecoursematerialbeforeyoutaketheFinalExam.ThecorrectionswillnoteffectyourUnitExamscores.Therefore,westronglyencourageyoutomakecertainthatyouroriginalanswersarecorrect.
SELECTINGAPROCTORFORYOURFINALEXAMINATION
FinalexaminationsaretobeadministeredtostudentsbyanapprovedProctoronadatethatismutuallyconvenienttoboth.ExaminationsareideallyadministeredattestingcenterstobefoundinlocalHighSchools,TradeandVocationalSchools,orCollegesandUniversities.TheProctormustbearesponsibleandreputablethirdpartyforwhomthereisnoconflictofinterestorappearanceofimpropriety.Schoolofficials,counselors,educationdirectors,supervisors,etc.arewellsuitedforthispurpose.TheProctorverifiestheexaminationwasadministeredinthemannerprescribed.Inthepresenceofthestudent,theProctorwillthensealintheprovidedenvelopetheexaminationandanswersheetandforwardtoCSU.Falsifyingproctorinformationwillresultininvalidationoftheexaminationandmaybecausefortermination.Onceyouhaveselectedyourproctor,completetheExaminationRequestformlocatedattheendofthisIntroductionandmailorfaxittotheUniversityatleasttwoweeksbeforeyouintendtositforyourexam.Theexamwillbesentdirectlytoyourproctor.
Grading
YourgradeforthecoursewillbedeterminedbyyourperformanceontheUnitandFinalExams.Theexamswillbeweightedasfollows:

FinalExam=40%
Total=100%
Lettergradeswillbeassignedonlyattheendofthecourse.Successfulcompletionofthecourserequiresanoverallscoreof70%orbetter.Thefollowingscalewillbeusedtodetermineyourcoursegrade:

B=80-89
C=70-79
D=60-69
F=59andbelow
