Theworld’slargesttravelwebsite，TripAdvisor，releasedasurveyonfemaletravelonApril9．Itrevealedthat43percentofChinesewomenhaveholidayedalone，slightlyhigherthantheglobalaverageof41percent．
Thesurveycovered10countriesandregions，includingChina，theUS，theUK，Germany，France，ItalyandSpain，andaimedtoexplorewomen’stravelhabitsespeciallywithregardstosolo（单独的）travelling．Accordingtothesurvey，whenchoosinghotels，85percentofChinesewomenwillcomparepricesondifferenttravelwebsites，muchhigherthantheworldaverageof57percent．However，92percentofwomenaroundtheworldregardonlinehotelreviewsasanimportantreferencewhile71percentofChinesefemaletravelersdoso，whichdemonstratesthatglobalwomentravelersattachgreaterimportancetohotelreviewstoavoidunsatisfactoryaccommodationexperiences．Incontrast，thoughChinesewomendoalsochecktheratings，theystillprefertobeguidedbylowerprices．
Interestingly，84percentofChinesewomenidentifiedtryinglocalfoodasoneofthenecessaryactivitieswhentravelingalone，higherthantheglobalaverageof62percent．Plus，76percentofChinesewomenand73percentofglobalfemaleswilltakepartinculturalandscenicactivities．Surprisingly，only30percentofChinesewomenlistshoppingasanindispensablemust-doontheirsolotraveltrips，lowerthantheaverageof43percent．
TripAdvisorChinaPresidentZhengJialisaid，“Globallyspeaking，solotravelhasgraduallybecomeatrendamongtheyounggeneration．Andthereisnodenyingthatwomenmustfacethegreaterchallengesofunknownenvironmentsbythemselvesontheirsolotripsinthefuture．”
FormostChinesewomentravelingalone，theynotonlyfocusonthejourneyprocessbutalsolongforchangesthattravelcanbringaboutintheirminds．Amongmorethan9，000respondentsaroundtheworld，amajorityspokehighlyofindependenttripswhichhavecausedsignificantchangesinthemselves，with36percentsayingtheyhavelearnedaboutdifferentcultures，43percentexpressingthattheyaremoreconfidentthanbeforeand56percentfeelingtheybecomemoreindependent．Inaddition，45percentofChinesefemaletravelersthinkindependenttripshavehelpedreshapetheiroutlookonlife，wellabovetheinternationalaverageofmerely15percent．
