　　Someresearcherssuggestthatzooplanktonmigratetoavoidthesun's

　　ultra-violetlight.Thatwouldexplainwhysomezooplanktonarefoundatsuch

　　greatdepth.Visiblelightmaynotpenetrateveryfardown,butultra-violet

　　lightcan.Andweknowthatsomezooplanktonhavespecialpigmentsthatprotect

　　themfromthedamageultra-violetlightcancause.

　　Thatcouldbewhysomezooplanktonareabletostayclosertothesurface

　　duringdaylighthours.

　　Althoughittakesalotofenergyforthezooplanktontomigrate,they
