（1）could引导的一般过去时的否定句，在could之后加not：
couldnot=couldn’t

（2）could引导的一般过去时的一般问句，将could调至句首：

一般过去时
在前面的三个单元加上本单元，我们学习了一般过去时。
本单元重在复习一般疑问句，所以对这四个单元所学的与一般过去时有关的内容进行归纳和复习，在查漏补缺的过程中巩固所学内容。
1.与一般过去时相关的时间状语yesterday,yesterday…,…ago,last…等。
2.一般过去时肯定句、否定句及其回答、一般疑问句、特殊疑问句等句式结构。
3.动词过去式的变化形式，尤其是到目前为止你们所学过的不规则动词的变化，要求你们能熟记。

【知识点分析】

ago表示“……以前”，通常与时间短语连用构成表示过去的时间短语，如：

关于“news”单词的由来。
