IfyougoallthewaybacktoHippocrates,physiciansbelievedthatorgasminwomenwasnotjusthelpfulforconception,butnecessary.Doctorsbackthenwereroutinelytellingmentheimportanceofpleasuringtheirwives.Marriage-manualauthorandsemen-snifferTheodoorvandeVelde—（Laughter）hasalineinhisbook.Ilovedthisguy.IgotalotofmileageoutofTheodoorvandeVelde.HehadthislineinhisbookthatsupposedlycomesfromtheHabsburgMonarchy,wheretherewasanempressMariaTheresa,whowashavingtroubleconceiving.Andapparentlytheroyalcourtphysiciansaidtoher,“IamoftheopinionthatthevuLVaofyourmostsacredmajestybetitillatedforsometimepriortointercourse.”（Laughter）It’sapparently,Idon’tknow,ontherecordsomewhere.

MastersandJohnson:
