2.0122Thingsareindependentinsofarastheycanoccurinallpossiblesituations,butthisformofindependenceisaformofconnexionwithstatesofaffairs,aformofdependence.Itisimpossibleforwordstoappearintwodifferentroles:

bythemselves,andinpropositions.

2.0123IfIknowanobjectIalsoknowallitspossibleoccurrencesinstatesofaffairs.

Everyoneofthesepossibilitiesmustbepartofthenatureoftheobject.Anewpossibilitycannotbediscoveredlater.
