TheoriginalCinderellavariesverymuchfromtheDisneyversionweknowtoday.Itstartedoffwiththegirlmourninghermother'sdeathandgoingtohertombthreetimesaday.Inaddition,therewereonlybirdsthathelpedCinderella;therewasnosuchthingasafairygodmotherorhelpfulmice,norwastherementionofahorseandcarriage.

Thestepsisterswerecruel:

Realizinghehadbeentricked,theprincereturnedthedaughtertohermother;theotherthenhadtocutoffpartofherheelinordertofitintotheshoe,withthesameresult.OnlyCinderella'sfootfitperfectlyandsotheprincechosetomarryher.Thestoryendswiththeweddingday:
