SAFETYANDHEALTHPOLICY

ChinaJiangsuInternationalNamibiaLtd.（CJIETCC）believesthatNOJOBORNOTASKISMOREIMPORTANTTHANWORKERHEALTHANDSAFETY.

Ifajobrepresentsapotentialsafetyorhealththreat,everyeffortwillbemadetoplanasafewaytodothetask.

Everyproceduremustbeasafeprocedure. Shortcutsinsafeproceduresbyeitherforemenorworkerswillnotbetolerated.

Ifaworkerobservesanyunprotectedjob,whichmayposeapotentialthreattotheirhealthorsafety,heorshemustinformmanagementandmanagementmusttakeadequateprecautions.

SAFETYANDHEALTHOBJECTIVES

ChinaJiangsuInternationalNamibiaLtd.planstoachieveworkersafetyandhealththroughthefollowing:

A. Usingaqualifiedsafetyperson.

B. Makingregularjobsitesafetyinspections.

C. Enforcingtheuseofsafetyequipment.

D. Followingsafetyproceduresandrules.

E. Providingon-goingsafetytraining.

F. Enforcingsafetyrulesandusingappropriatediscipline.

JOBSITEINSPECTIONS

Thesafetypersonorotherdesignatedpersonwilltoureachjobsiteandobservepotentialsafety/healthhazards,includingthepotentialhazardsofconfinedspacesanddevelopaplanforsafeguardingthiscompany'sworkerswhichmayincludethefollowing:

1. Removingthehazard.

2. GuardingagainstthehazardasrequiredbyCJIETCC.

3. Providingpersonalprotectiveequipmentandenforcingitsuse.

4. Trainingworkersinsafeworkpractices.

5. Coordinatingprotectionofworkersthroughothercontractors.

Arecordofallsafetyinspectionsandcorrectionalstepswillbekept.

1. Beingknowledgeableofpotentialjobhazards.

2. AssuringcompliancewithCJIETCCconstructionsafetyandhealthstandardrequirements.

3. Makingregularsafetyinspections.

4. Establishingsafetyprocedures.

5. Correlatingregularsafetytrainingwithleadpersons.

6. Maintainingsafetyrecords.

PERSONALPROTECTIVEEQUIPMENT

1. Headprotectionwillbewornonjobsiteswhentherearepotentialsoffallingobjects,hairentanglement,burning,orelectricalhazards.

2. Eyeprotectionwillbewornwhentherearepotentialsofhazardsfromflyingobjectsorparticles,chemicals,arcing,glare,ordust.

3. Protectivefootwearshallbeworntoprotectfromfallingobjects,chemicals,orsteppingonsharpobjects. Athleticorcanvas-typeshoesshallnotbeworn.

4. Protectiveglovesorclothingshallbewornwhenrequiredtoprotectagainstahazard.

5. Harnessesandlanyardsshallbeutilizedforfallprotection.

SAFETYRULES

ALLOFOURSAFETYRULESMUSTBEOBEYED. FAILURETODOSOWILLRESULTINSTRICTDISCIPLINARYACTIONBEINGTAKEN.

1. Keepyourmindonyourworkatalltimes. Nohorseplayonthejob. Injuryorterminationorbothcanbetheresult.

2. Personalsafetyequipmentmustbewornasprescribedforeachjob,suchas:

 safetyglassesforeyeprotection,hardhatsatalltimeswithintheconfinesoftheconstructionareawherethereisapotentialforfallingmaterialsortools,gloveswhenhandlingmaterials,andsafetyshoesarenecessaryforprotectionagainstfootinjuries.

3. Precautionsarenecessarytopreventsunburnandtoprotectagainstburnsfromhotmaterials.

4. Ifanypartofyourbodyshouldcomeincontactwithanacidorcausticsubstance,rushtothenearestwateravailableandflushtheaffectedpart. Securemedicalaidimmediately.

5. Watchwhereyouarewalking. Don'trun.

6. Theuseofillegaldrugsoralcoholorbeingundertheinfluenceofthesameontheprojectshallbecausefortermination. Informyoursupervisoriftakingstrongprescriptiondrugsthatwarnagainstdrivingorusingmachinery.

7. Donotdistracttheattentionoffellowworkers. Donoengageinanyactwhichwouldendangeranotheremployee.
