1.ExpansionofEnrollment

Manycollegesanduniversitieshaveexpandedtheirenrollmentsince1998.Thereasonsfortheexpansionareasfollows.Firstly,theywanttokeepupwiththeneedofthejobmarkettoproducemorequalifiedpeopletotakeupthejobs.Secondly,theexpansionhasentitledmanyhighschoolgraduatestotherightofreceivinghighereducation.Lastbutnotleast,itcanraisetheintellectualstandardsofournation.

However,studiesshowthatthetrendtoexpandhasbroughtaboutmanyproblems.Forinstance,theteachingfacilitiesandaccommodationcapacitiesofmanycollegesanduniversitiesarelimitedandareunabletomeetthedemandofanever-increasingnumberofthenewlyenrolledstudents.Ontheotherhand,theaveragequalityofthefreshmenisdeclining.Inthelongrun,huntingforajobwillbeatoughthingforthegraduatesandthatwillinevitablyexertmuchpressureontheprospectsofemployment.

Inspiteofallthis,Iamstillconfidentthattheexpansionofenrollmentisofgreatbenefittooursocietyandisagoodthing.Withthedevelopmentofournationaleconomy,theproblemasmentionedabovewillbesolvedifpropermeasuresaretaken.

2.CareerorFamily:

whichismoreimportant?

Whenaskedabouttheiropinionofcareerandfamily,peoplealwaysresponddifferently.Somepeopledeemitmoreimportanttopursuetheircareer,whiletherearealwaysotherpeoplewhoarguethatfamilyshouldbethenumberoneinone’slife.

Itgoeswithoutanyquestionthatcareerplaysakeyroleinourlife.Intheveryfirstplace,careercangiveusanaimtoliveon.Withoutcareer,muchofourlivingtimewillbecertainlywasted.What’smore,careercanprovideuswithameanstoliveon.Mostofthepeopleearntheirincomefromajob.Ontheotherhand,familyisalsoanindispensablepartoflife,asmanypeoplewilladmit.Familyisalwaysregardedasaplacewherewecanescapefromtroublesinlife.Inaddition,wecanobtainasenseofbelongingtofromfamily.Withoutit,anyonewillfeellonelyanddesperate.

Inmyopinion,careerandfamilyarenotinoppositiontoeachother.Rather,theycanenhanceeachothersothatone’slifecanbecomebetterandbetter.

3.IncomeGap

Therehasbeenaheateddiscussionoverthegrowingincomegapnow.Somepeopleholdthatthegapisnaturalbecauseitreflectsdifferentcontributionsthatdifferentpeoplemakeintheirwork.Intheirview,thosepeoplewithhighincomeworkhardandlong.Besides,thesepeoplebringhighefficiency,andcreatemorewealth.Accordingly,theydeservehighpay.

Ontheotherhand,therearealwayssomepeoplewhoviewthisgapnegatively.Theybelievethatalotofcrimeshappenasaresultofthisincomegap.Somepeoplemakesolittlefromtheirworkthattheyrisktakingcriminalactstogetrich.Infact,expertshavelongfoundoutthatmostcasesofcrimearedirectlyrelatedtolowincome.Thereisanotherpointtobackupanegativeviewagainstincomegap.Formostpeople,incomegapmaydestroythesatisfactionthattheyobtainfromwork.

Asanythinghastwosides,sohastheproblemofincomegap.Personally,Ibelievethatthisgapmaymotivatepeopletocompetebetterinjobmarket.Whenthisgapisgrowingtoowide,however,ourgovernmentshouldmakesomepoliciestogetridofitsnegativeconsequences.

4.Savinganimals

Thereisanundeniablefactthatthenumberofanimalsisdecliningfasterthaneverbefore.Accordingtoarecentsurveymadebysomeexperts,about37speciesdisappearfromoureartheveryyear.Itisobviousthattheproblemhasbecomeaseriousoneworthourconcern.

Whenweexplorethisproblem,someunderlyingfactorsemerge.Intheveryfirstplace,humanbeingshaveplayedabigpart.Withthefastdevelopmentofhumansociety,theenvironmentismuchdestroyed,andanimalslosetheirhome.Accordingly,somespeciesbecomeextinct.What’smore,peoplehuntanimalsforfoodandskin.AgoodcaseinpointisthattheJapanesehavekilledalotofwhalesbecausetheyliketoeatthemeat.Inaddition,humanbeingsarelargelyresponsibleforthepollutionofnaturalenvironment,anddestroythehabitatsofanimalsinmanyways.

Thecurrentproblem,Ibelieve,shouldbesolvedimmediately.Firstofall,ourgovernmentshouldplayakeyroleinmakingrelevantrulesandprotectinganimals.Thegeneralpublicshouldalsobeeducatedtovaluetheexistenceoftheseanimalsonourplanet.

5.TourisminChina

RecentyearshaveseenatendencyinChinathattourismisgrowingfaster.Accordingtoarecentsurveymadebysomeexperts,about47%urbanresidentstravelregularly,and28%ruralresidentsalsomaketheirtouracrossthecountry.Thesurveyalsoshowsthatmorepeopleareinterestedintourism,andwilljointhearmyinthefuture.

Facingthistendency,wecan’thelpexploringsomeunderlyingfactorsthatareresponsible.Intheveryfirstplace,withthepolicyofreformandopeningup,Chinesepeople’slivingstandardhasbeengreatlyimproved,andtherefore,mostofthemcanaffordtotravelaround.What’smore,itisbelievedthatpeoplenowtakeamorepositiveattitudetotourism,andregarditasalifestyle.Inaddition,tourismfacilitiesarebecomingbetterandbetter.Forexample,transportationdevelopsfast,andmanyscenicspotsareavailablenow.

Thoughtherearestillsomeproblemswithtourism,Ipersonallybelievethattourismplaysakeyroleinourlife.Ialsohopethatourgovernmentwillmakepoliciestocreateabetterenvironmentfortourists.

6.Stress

Inthepastfewyears,quiteanumberofmenandwomenhavechosentodosomethinglesscompetitive.Theyareafraidthatthestressandstrainsofworkwillrobthemofjoyandhappinessanddothemharmbothphysicallyandmentally.

Infact,however,stressisn’tthebadthingitisoftensupposedtobe.Aboveall,unlessitgetsoutofcontrol,acertainamountofstressisvitaltoprovidemotivationandchallenge,andtogivepurposeandsignificancetoanotherwisemeaningless,idlelife.Furthermore,peopleunderstresstendtoachievetheirfullpotentialandtoactualizetheirownpersonalworth—theveryaimofahumanlife.

Stressisanaturalpartofeverydaylifeandthereisnowaytoavoidit.Whatwecandoistodevelopouradaptiveabilitiestodealwithitratherthantoescapefromit.

7.JobHunting

Jobhuntinghasalwaysbeenaheadacheforcollegestudents.Thoughmanygraduatesareemployedrightaftergraduation,somearenot.Mostseriousofall,somestillhavenoideawheretoworkevenalongtimeaftergraduation.

Thereasonsforthisphenomenonarevarious.Ontheonehand,afewyearsagocollegesanduniversitiesenrolledsomanystudentsinpopularmajors,suchaseconomy,financeandsoonthatthenumberofgraduateswasgreaterthantheneedinthejobmarket.Ontheotherhand,mostgraduateswouldratherstayinlargecitieswithoutsuitablejobtodothangotothecountry.

Ireckonthisproblemcanbesolvedifbothcollegesandstudentstakemeasures.First,theyshouldresearchthejobmarketanddevelopspecialskillstosuititsneed.Second,students’attitudetowardsemploymentshouldbechanged.Theyshouldgotosmallcitiesandcountry.Theretheycanalsogivefullplaytotheirprofessionalknowledge.Inaword,ifwepaymuchattention,thesituationcanbeimproved.
