【本单元话题】
本单元以“物品归属”为话题，以“谈论推断”为交际功能，重点让学生在这些语境中学习和运用情态动词进行推断。
【本单元重点掌握目标】
1.掌握情态动词must,might,could,can’t表示推测的用法。
2.能够根据相关的信息进行合理推测。
【教材内容拆分分析】
2a-2e为本单元阅读版块。
阅读材料是关于巨石阵的说明文。
阅读语篇涉及英国文化，还涉及一些含有连接词的复杂句子，需要引导学生在上下文语境中体会语言表达的确切含义。
活动2a要求学生体验连接词的运用，为2b的阅读活动扫除障碍。
2b要求学生通过文本的细节理解，尝试自己解读文本，找出巨石阵的神秘之处，以及文中对巨石阵用处的各项推测。
2d要求学生在理解2a连接词的基础上，运用这些连接词将相关句子补充完整。
2e是一个开放性的活动，学生需要展开思维，思考在中国或世界上还有哪些类似巨石阵这样神秘的地方，它们为什么神秘以及学生对于这些地方了解多少内容等问题并进行讨论。

活动3a要求学生就SectionA3a文中所提到的奇怪声音发挥想象进行推测，列举自己的观点和推测依据，为后面环节的写作打开思路，积累语言素材。
活动3b要求学生根据报纸标题和所给的写作提示结合3a所列内容为报纸写一篇新闻报道。

通过本单元的学习使学生学会谈论物品的归属及神秘事件，掌握教材所呈现的与本话题相关的单词和情态动词进行推断的用法，培养运用目标语言进行听、说、读、写等技能。
