PURPOSE:

Toobtainalactidebyusingsuchalowtoxic,highlyefficientcatalystastobeeasyinthesolutiontreatmentoftheresiduesleftafterreaction.

CONSTITUTION:

Theobjectivelactidecanbeobtainedbyheatinglow-molecularweightpolylacticacidat130-230°Cunderreducedpressuresinthepresenceofanalkalimetalcompoundfollowedbydistillingawaytheproductlactide.Tocarryoutthereactioninhigherefficiency,thelow-molecularweightpolylacticacidshouldbesuchoneastobeproducedbydehydratingcondensationoflacticacidinthepresenceofahigh-boilingalcoholunderreducedpressureatanelevatedtemperature.Thereby,theobjectivelactidecanbeobtainedinhigherefficiencycomparedwiththecaseusingconventionallyknowncatalysts.Thepresentcatalystisexcellentalsoinitseaseintheresiduetreatmentafterreaction.
