Theotherwasbetweentheanalogistsandtheanomalistsontheregularitiesoflanguage.Theanalogistsclaimedthatlanguageingeneralwasregularandtherewererulesforpeopletofollow.TheanomalistsmaintainedthatlanguagewasbasicallyirregularandthatwaswhythereweresomanyexceptionsandirregularitiesintheGreeklanguage.
