《旅游英语》课程标准

一、概述

(一)课程性质

该课程为商务英语专业的素质拓展课,为选修课程。

适用于商务英语专业三年制的学生,

也适用于旅游管理和酒店管理专业的学生。

(二)课程基本理念

该课程主要教学目的是培养学生的英语听、说、阅读及翻译能力,提高学生运用旅游英语进行交际的综合能力。

旅游不仅是观赏风景更是品味一方风土人情、地理文化。

(三)课程设计思路

本课程重在通过文字资料和影像资料向学生介绍中国和欧美文化及名胜古迹、人文地理等方面的内容,使学生通过本课程的学习丰富中西文化知识、增强英语跨文化交流能力,达到从事一般旅游业所需的英语水平,并具备必要的旅游专业知识。

二、课程目标

1、总目标

学生应通过本课程的学习,掌握旅游英语必备的语言知识和技能,具有在旅游实践中做口头和书面翻译的初步能力,达到既能通过英语来加强旅游知识的学习又能通过旅游知识的学习来提高英语水平的教学目标,并为进一步提高英语的应用能力打下一定的基础。

2、具体目标

通过本课程的教学,学生应当具有较强的英语阅读能力和一定的听、说、写、译的能力,具备用英语交流信息的能力。

该课程的教学应帮助学生打下扎实的语言基础,提高他们的文化素养,以适应学生旅游接待工作的需要。

1)掌握旅游英语的基础理论以及旅游业中各个特定行业用语和习惯用法。

2)了解各地的风土人情,学习使用适合我国国情的本土化英语。

3)能用英语在旅游产业的“行、住、吃、游、购、娱”行业服务方面进行日

常会话,表达流畅,无明显的语法错误。

4)能进行日常生活和一般旅游交际中的英语会话,能胜任运用英语来进行旅

游服务工作。

5)通过该课程的学习,具备旅游英语的实践运用能力,部分学生能取得英语

导游或汉语导游资格证书。
