Morrisonexplainedthattheylookedatdifferentagegroupsandtheirmemories.Weoftenremembermorefromwhenweareteenagers,andthisiscalled“thereminiscencebump”.Thisisthetimeinyourlifewhenyouformyourideaofwhoyouare.ForoldpeoplewhohavememoriesrelatedtotheBeatles’music,mostofthosememoriesarefromwhentheywereteenagers.Butyoungerpeoplealsohadclearpersonalmemoriesfromtheirpast.

Thestudyhasfoundthatmusiccouldbeusedwithpeoplewhohaveproblemsrememberingthepast.“Youcouldusemusictohelpimprovepeople’sabilitytoremember,”saidMorrison.“Inthefuture,wewouldliketodomoreexperimentstoseehowusefulmusicisinhelpingpeopletorememberthepast,andcompareittootherthingsthatmightalsohelp.”
