Whilethestudentsarereadingthispassage,somereadingstrategiesshouldbeintroduced:
skimming—togetthegeneralideaofapassagebylookingatthetitlesandheadings,thefirstandlastsentencesofparagraphsandthefirstandlastparagraphsaswellaspicturesandchart;scanning—tofindcertaininformationinatextquicklybylookingforkeywordsandphrases,dates,numbers,etc.
