II.语法归纳迁移

that引导的定语从句

1.定语从句

在复合句中,修饰主句中某一名词或代词的从句叫定语从句。

定语从句位于被修饰的名词或代词之后。

2.先行词和关系词

被定语从句修饰的名词或代词叫先行词。

引导定语从句的词叫关系词,也叫引导词。

关系词在整个复合句中起三个作用:

(1)引导定语从句;

(2)代替先行词;

(3)在定语从句中充当具体的句子成分。

3.that引导的定语从句

that即可指代有生命的动物或人,也可指代无生命的物。

换句话说,不管先行词是人还是物,都可以用that引导的定语从句修饰。

that在定语从句中可以充当主语或宾语。

Heisthegentlemanthatwantstohelpus.他就是那位想帮助我们的先生。

(关系词that指代人,在定语从句thatwantstohelpus中充当主语)

ThisisthebookthatIwanttobuy.这就是我想要买的那本书。

(关系代词that指代物,在定语从句thatIwanttobuy中充当宾语)

关系代词that在定语从句中作宾语时可以省略。
