AlexandervanWeet,inchargeofAllesVoorMekaar,saidthesocialcornerwouldbereallyhelpful.“Wevolunteersregularlysitdowninthecoffeecornerandtrytogetintouchwithpeoplewhoneedhelp.Theseniorshavebecomehappierandmoretalkativesincewecametochatwiththem,”hesaid.

LonelinessisalsoabigproblemintheUKandthere,thegovernmenthassetupseveralprojects,includinghavingpostmencheckonseniorsontheirrouteandchatbenchesinsomecommunities.

Projectslikethesearecrucialtotheoldermembersofourcommunitywholivealoneandsufferfromloneliness.Hopefully,moresupermarketsinothercommunitieswillstarttheirowncoffeecorners.
