ThefailuregotDisneythinkingevenbigger.In1953,heclosedadealtobuysomelandinAnaheim.Somedesignersthoughtitwastoofar,butDisneywentahead.Itwaslikebuildinganewcity.Pipeshadtobefixed.Railwaytrackhadtobelaidaround.Disneychosethehub-and-spoke(轴辐式)streetpatternthatmanycitieshave.“IwantDisneylandtobeaplacewhereyoucan’tgetlost,”hesaid.Designersandarchitectsalsodiagrammed(图解)theridesandmademodels,whileartistspaintedthebackground.
