Idiomsarejustlikeincomparablyresplendentbightpearlsemittingdazzlingraysinthepalaceofliterature.Throughouttheages,theyanimatetheworksofcountlessmenofliteratureandwriting.Idiomshavefixedpatternsandabundantconnotations.Theirvividimagesexplicitlyconveyincisivemeanings.ChineseidiomsarepartoftheessenceofChineseculturewithahistoryofthousandsofyears.Inthisthesis,theEnglishtranslationofChineseidiomswillbediscussedonthefoundationofsimplyintroducingthedefinitions,origins,features,andclassificationsofidioms,andaseriesofprinciplesandmethodsofidiomtranslationwillbeputforward,mainlyinvolvingthetranslationoftheChineseidiomswhichhavesimilaranddissimilarimplicationsinEnglish.
