  　LocatedatthecenterofKaifengCity,itisoneofrenownedBuddhistMonasteryinChinafirstlyconstructedin555ADduringtheperiodofNorthernQiDynasty.ItwasfirstlynamedJianguoMonastery,in712AD,itwasgiventhenametheGreatXiangguoTemplebytheEmperorReizonginmemoryofhisascendingtothethroneofemperorfromtheformerpositionofKingXiang.DuringtheNorthernSongDynasty,itwasdeeplyworshippedandrespectedbytheroyalfamilyenlargingforseveraltimes,itonceoccupiedanareaaslargeas500muofland,with64meditationyards,lawyardsunderitsadministration,withmorethan1,000monks,beingthebiggestmonasteryinthecapitalcityandthecenterofnationalBuddhistactivities.Later,itwasdestroyedbyfloodsandwars,andrestoredinthe10thyear（1671AD）underthereignofEmperorKangxiinQingDynasty.Atpresent,theexistingconstructionincludestheHallofCelestialKing,theHallofGreatMarhavira,theHallofBuddhismInscriptions,GoddessofMercywiththousandhandsandeyes,etc.InAugust,1992,theBuddhistactivitieswererestored,thedrumandbelltowerswererebuilt.Thelayoutofentiremonasteryiscloselyandproperlyarrangedwithamagnificentlook.
