However,ateamofJapaneseresearchersfounddrinkinggreenteacanclearlydecreasedeathrate.Theyfollowed40,530healthyadultsaged40to79forupto11yearsinaregionofnortheasternJapanwheremostpeopledrinkgreentea.Theyfoundthedeathrateofthosewhodrankfiveormorecupsofgreenteaadayisevidentlylowerthanthosewhodranklessthanonecupaday,especially,indiseaserelatedwithheartandbloodvessels.

Butnosuchassociationwasseenwithdeathsfromcancer,norbetweenoolongorblackteaandanydecreaseindeathrate.Thoseteasareeasiertobecombinedwithoxygeninprocessing,whichnotonlydarkensthecoloroftheleavesandchangestheirflavorbutalsoreducestheirbeneficialcontent.
