ThefirstfoodbankwasSt.Mary’sFoodBank.Itstartedin1967inArizona.In1979,itbecamealargerorganizationnamedAmerica’sSecondHarvestNetwork-madeupofover200foodbanksacrosstheUSA.Eachyear,theNetworkprovidesfoodformorethan25millionhungrypeopleintheUnitedStates,includingmorethan9millionchildrenandnearly3millionoldpeople.

Theresearcharguedthatboysoftenperformbadlyinmixedschoolsbecausetheybecomediscouragedwhen girlsdobetterearlierinspeakingandreadingskills.

Butinsingle-sexschoolsteacherscanadjustlessonstoboys'learningstyle,lettingthemmovearoundthe classroomandgettingthemtocompeteinteamstopreventboredom,wrotethestudy'sauthor,AbigailJames,oftheUniversityofVirginia.
