Asdescribedin[3]-completedandadaptedtoMXby[13]-theProjectDevelopmentPlancoversDR1toDR4oftheproductlifecycle.ItisinitializedfortheDR1andcompletedbytheotherdevelopmentplansthatarewrittenwithintheframeoftheproject.

EveryoneinvolvedintheMXProjectmustapplythisdevelopmentplan.

2PROJECTPRESENTATION

2.1Projectoverview

Projectobjectivesandscope

TheprojectisaimingatimplementinganewTelecomplatform（calledMX）tohostanewgenerationofMFSandBSCequipment–respectivelynamedMX-BSCandMX-MFS.

EventhoughtheMXplatformisdesignedtosupportotherradiocontrollers,theMXprojectwillbededicatedtoGSMproductsfirst.

∙BothMX-BSCandMX-MFSwillbeintroducedinB8andB9.

TheMXPlatformisdevelopedinordertorationalizeR&DeffortsforallthecontrolplatformsofEvolium:

BSCandMFSforGSM,RNCforUMTS,WANCforWIMAX.Itisopeninsuchawaythatintroducingnewradiointerfaceswillnotdramaticallychangeitsinternalarchitecture.

Therationalizationoftheplatformwillcoverthefollowingaspects:

∙Commonarchitecture:

alltheproductsshallbebasedonthesamearchitectureprinciples.

∙Commonboardsandmechanics:

alltheproductsshallbebasedonthesamemechanicsandboards,arrangeddifferentlydependingontheproduct.ThisnewplatformisbasedontheAdvancedTelecomComputingArchitecture（ATCA）standard.

∙Commonsoftware:

asmuchaspossible,thedifferentproductsshallmakeuseofthesamesoftwarecomponents.
