SCOPE1.1 Object of the documentThis MX Pr

21、oject Development Plan is the reference for the management of the MX project in terms of planning, costs, organization and resources.As described in 3 - completed and adapted to MX by 13 - the Project Development Plan covers DR1 to DR4 of the product life cycle. It is initialized for the DR1 and com

22、pleted by the other development plans that are written within the frame of the project.For definitions of DRx within MX project, please refer to 1, 3and 131.2 Area of ApplicationEveryone involved in the MX Project must apply this development plan.1.3 Validation and approvals of the Development PlanT

23、his Development Plan is created, reviewed, validated, approved and modified according to the procedures described in 6 and 4.It is managed and stored according to the procedure described in 5.The reasons to modify this development plan can be one of the following:- meaningful content modification, -

24、 modification of project organization,- split in sub-releases.1.4 Document OrganizationThis development plan follows globally the recommendation described in 9.The present chapter 1 gives an overview of the document, of its environment and limits.Chapter 2 presents the project in terms of content, c

27、esources.Chapter 12 presents the global schedule.Chapter 13 presents the MX glossary.2 PROJECT PRESENTATION2.1 Project overviewProject objectives and scopeThe project is aiming at implementing a new Telecom platform (called MX) to host a new generation of MFS and BSC equipment respectively named MX-

28、BSC and MX-MFS. Even though the MX platform is designed to support other radio controllers, the MX project will be dedicated to GSM products first. Both MX-BSC and MX-MFS will be introduced in B8 and B9. The MX Platform is developed in order to rationalize R&D efforts for all the control platforms o

29、f Evolium: BSC and MFS for GSM, RNC for UMTS, WANC for WIMAX. It is open in such a way that introducing new radio interfaces will not dramatically change its internal architecture.The rationalization of the platform will cover the following aspects: Common architecture: all the products shall be bas

30、ed on the same architecture principles. Common boards and mechanics: all the products shall be based on the same mechanics and boards, arranged differently depending on the product. This new platform is based on the Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (ATCA) standard.
