AccordingtoHunanDaily,inYongxingCountyofHunanProvince,retiredteacherChenandhiswifearelivinginanaturalcave(山洞),andtheyquiteenjoysuchlife.

Chen’scaveis20meterswideand8metersdeep.Lichens(青苔)canbeseeneverywhereinit.Chensaysthattheplaceisfreeofpollution.

Becauseofbeingpoor,theymovedintothecave,Chensaid.In1975,thehousesofhisfamiliesandhisneighborswereallburnedtothegroundinthefire.Chenwasthenalreadymarriedandbadlyneededahousetolivein.Buthehadnomoneytobuildahouse,sohehadtoliveinhisrelatives’housesaslongas5years.

In1980,hehappenedtodiscoverthiscave,immediatelyheandhisfamilymembersdecidedtoliveinthere.Chenthoughtthecavecouldbeatemporary(临时的)livingplace,butitneveroccurredtohimthatitcouldbehishomeinthenext28years.Chenrecalledthatthefirstcoupleofdayswerethemostdifficultperiod,“Iputupsomewoodenboardsforagate,buttheywereallblownawaybywindthatsamenight.”
