ConceptualModel,EnvironmentalSettingandInstallationDesignReport

NotestotheApplicant–PleasereadbeforecompletingthisReport

(a)ThistemplatehasbeendesignedtobeusedwiththeEPRapplicationformandtheH1EnvironmentalRiskAssessment-Annex(i)Landfill.Ithasbeendesignedtodescribetheconceptualmodelandprovidetheinformationweneedandthewayinwhichwewouldpreferittobepresented.

(b)Theinitialconceptualmodelshouldprovideanunderstandingoftheinstallationinitsenvironmentalsettingandconsiderationofthedesignandoperationofthesiteatthetimeoftheapplication.Itshouldaddressthesourcetermsoftherisk(i.e.waste),allpathwaysandreceptorsandshouldbeusedasabasisforcommencingtheriskassessments.

(c)Thefinalconceptualmodelreportshouldbepreparedonthebasisofthefindingsofthecomponentriskassessments(e.g.hydrogeology,stability,landfillgas,etc.)requiredfortheEPRApplication.

(d)Whencompletingthistemplate,thefollowingisrecommended.

∙Anentryshouldbemadeineachsectionevenifitistoconfirmthatsuchfeaturesarenotrelevanttoaparticularsite.

∙Alltabulatedinformationshouldbeincludedwithinthetextofthereportattheappropriatepoint.

∙Theconceptualmodelshouldbebasedonthedrawingssetoutwithinthistemplate;someofwhichwillbe“asbuilt”andsomewillbeproposals.Onedrawingcanprovidetheinformationformorethanoneoftherequirementsaslongasthedrawingisclearlylabelled.Identificationnumbersmustbeincludedforeachmonitoringpoint.

∙Alldrawings,mapsorplansshouldbetorecognisedscalessufficienttoshowthefollowingdetailsasspecified.Eachdrawingshouldhavealabelthatincludes:

otitleofdrawing;

oinstallationname;

onameandaddressoftheoperator;

odatethedrawingwasmade;

odrawingidentificationnumber;

oscaleofthedrawing.
