论学校商务英语的教学模式

摘要:

随着全球业务的快速发展,英语已经被接受为世界各地的一个共同的商业语言,社会对既精通英语,又熟练掌握商务知识的复合型人才需求急剧增加。

商务英语已引起语言学家越来越多的关注。

作为一个相对较新的学科,商务英语有其特殊性。

因此,商务英语的人才培养同其他文学形式的不同。

商务英语人才的培养讲究的是一个全面。

商务英语人才所需要的不只是简单的商务翻译,更要学会商务礼仪、商务沟通、专业知识等。

但现今的商务英语教学中却有很多的问题,例如专业定位不明确,学生学习商务英语的内部动力不足,教学与实际脱轨,缺少既熟知商务又精通英语的老师,学生英语基础不平衡等。

本文将针对商务英语的特点,现今商务英语人才培养中所出现的问题,和如何根据“英语+专业”这个模式,探讨如何才能培养出真正的复合型商务英语人才。

Abstract:

Alongwiththefastdevelopmentoftheglobalbusiness,Englishhasbeenacceptedasacommonbusinesslanguagearoundtheworld,andthepeoplewhobothmasterEnglishandskillfulatBusinessmatterisbadlyneededinthissociety.BusinessEnglishhasdrawnmoreandmoreattentionfromthelinguists.Asarelativelynewacademicsubject,BusinessEnglishhasitsspecialcharacteristics.Accordingly,thetranslationofBusinessEnglishisdifferentfromthetranslationsofotherliteraryforms.ThecultivationofBusinessEnglishTalentsemphasizeoncomprehensivetalents.WhattheBusinessEnglishTalentsneedisnotjustthebasicskillofBusinessTranslationbutalsoneedtomastertheBusinessetiquette,BusinesscommunicationandProfessionalknowledgeandsoon.Therehavealotofproblemsintoday’sBusinessEnglishteaching,suchasunclearofspecialtyorientation,studentslakeofinternalmotivationoflearningBusinessEnglish,unbalancebetweenteachingandpractice,lackofteacherswhobothmasterBusinessandEnglish,thedifferencebetweenstudent’sEnglishskillsandsoon.ThispaperwillfocusonthecharacteristicsofBusinessEnglish,theproblemshappenedintoday’scultivationofBusinessEnglishtalentsanddiscussanewmodelwhichdependson“English+Professionalknowledge”tocultivatedtherealBusinessEnglishTalents.

1.Introduction

In2001,ChinabecameamemberofWorldTradeOrganization(WTO),thetotalvolumeofimportandexportkeepsgrowingfast.SinceJuly.2004,therightofExport&ImportLicensechangeformapprovalsystemtoregisteredsystem,thatmeansenterprisecangetthedirectedrightofindependentlyengagedinExport&ImportTrading.Itpromotessocial’sdemandstoBusinessEnglishTalents.AlongwiththerapiddevelopmentofChina’seconomicandmoreandmoreInternationalbusinessactivities,thedemandtoBusinessEnglishTalentshadturntoextravertion,applicationandcomposition.

ThehistoryofBusinessEnglisheducationhavemorethan50yearsinourcountry,andtherehavealotofeducationmodels.Becauseofthedifferentbackgroundofschoolandeducationexperience,thecourseofBusinessEnglishcontrastalot.Inthebeginningofthefifties,BusinessEnglishdevelopedasatrainingtoforeigntradestaff.Sincethereformandopenpolicy,BusinessEnglishgetafastdevelopment,morethan700schoolshaveBusinessEnglishcurriculumatpresent.In2007,UniversityofInternationalBusinessandEconomicsbecomethefirstschooltosetupBusinessEnglishmajorwhichapprovedbyMinistryofEducation.In2012,therehave62approvedbyMinistryofEducationtosetupBusinessEnglishmajor.Butbasedonthoseschools’BusinessEnglishcurriculum,randomincoursedesign,lackofstandardandsystematicarethemainproblem.

Atpresent,BusinessEnglishisjustasalinguisticcourseinmostschools.TheseveraladvisesabouteducationreformofEnglishmajorin21thcenturyfiguresoutthatweshouldclearlyfacetherealitythatbecauseofsocial’sdemandtoEnglishtalentsturnedtoatendencyofdiversity,thetalentsonlyinEnglishandbasicskillscouldnotadaptedtomarketeconomyanymore,markets’demandtopurelanguagemajorgraduatehasphasedown.Onlyafewtalentsmajorinforeignlanguage,literatureandlinguisticsisneededtobeengagedinsomeworksuchasteachingandresearchinforeignliteratureandlinguistics.ButthecompoundtalentscombinedEnglishandothermajorsuchasdiplomacy,economy,lawandjournalism(国家教委,《关于外语专业面向21世纪本科教育改革若干意见》).

Inmyopinion,BusinessEnglishwasnotjustforlearningalanguagebutuseEnglishtoachievetheobjectivetotakepartinbusinessactivitiesandbusinesscommunication.IammajorinEnglishbutatthesametimeIalsostudiedfinance.BecauseIthinkonlyhandleaEnglishlanguagecan’thelpmetofindagoodjobafterIgraduatedfromuniversity.Ichoosedoublemajor,thoughharditis,isworthtotry.

2.CurrentSituationofBusinessEnglish

ThoughwehavemorethanthousanduniversitiesandinstitutionsprovideBusinessEnglisheducation,societystilllackofprofessionalBusinessEnglishtalents.ManypeoplearejustspecializedinEnglishorbusiness,fewpeoplecanmasterboth.Whythishappened?

Maybethemainreasonisbackwardoftoday’sBusinessEnglisheducationandexists
