what作为疑问词看作是单数，所以动词make使用了第三人称单数形式。

Smoke和rubbish都是不可数名词。
一般现在时的肯定句中，主语是不可数名词，谓语动词也用第三人称单数形式。

make和keep的不同用法：
make的意思有很多，做，制作，制造，整理，获得等，在本单元中的意思是“使……变得”，make+sth/sb+形容词。
