Alittlewhileaftertheteacherhadbeguntheclass,asoundliketheleakingofatyrewasheardintheclassroom.Atfirst,itwasalmostunnoticeable,butsoonitbecamelouderandlouder.Andeverybodycouldhearunmistakablythatitwassomeonegiggling,andbegantolookforthesourceofthelaughter.AsIlookedaround,IwassosurprisedwhenIfounditwasJanewhowasgiggling.Shecouldhardlycontrolherselfandwasshakingwithlaughter.Alleyesturnedtowardsher,includingtheteacher’sfuriousones,butshedidn’tnoticethem.Shejustlaughedandlaughed.Suddenly,theteacherroared:

Thebeachisratherroughwithmanybigandsmallstonesonthesurface.Thesandisalsoverybiginformandbrownincolor.Atthetimeoflowtide,wecanseethereefsappearingoutofthewater.Itisnotfitforswimmerstocomeheretobathe,soitisquietallovertheyear.

Moreover,whenthetideislow,wemayseealsosomepoorboysofthenearbyvillages.Theycarrybamboobasketsontheirbacksorundertheirarms.Runningonthesolitarybeach,theyaretryingtopickupthesmallcrabsamongtherocks.Theytakethemhomeforfoodortheysellthemforalittlemoney.

Onthesea,wecanseethedistantfishingboatssailingbacktotheharbourtoanchorthereatnight.Thesettingsunlookslikeanimmenseyolk.Theskyturnsintoorangeredandthesurfaceoftheseaisglitteringlikeasheetofgoldleaf.Thewavesbeatingattherockssoundlikemusic.Afterall,awalkontheseashoreisalwaysenjoyable.
