TheMDT 2010releaseincludessupportforUDIdeployments.UDIbuildsontheOperatingSystemDeployment（OSD）featureinSystemCenterConfigurationManagerandusestheOperatingSystemDeployment（OSD）SetupWizardtocustomizedeploymentconfigurationsettings.ThefollowingMDT 2010Update 1componentshavebeenaddedtosupportUDIdeployments:

∙OperatingSystemDeployment（OSD）SetupWizard.ThiswizardisinitiatedasatasksequencestepinaSystemCenterConfigurationManagertasksequence.Thewizardincludesthefollowingwizardpagesthatallowyoutocustomizethedeploymentconfigurationsettings:

∙Welcome.Allowscustomizationofthetextdisplayedonthepageandthebannergraphicdisplayedonthepage

∙PreflightChecks.Allowsreadinesscheckstobeperformedonthetargetcomputerpriortoperformingthedeployment

∙Computer.Allowstheconfigurationofthetargetcomputername,thedomainorworkgroupmembership,andthecredentialsusedforjoiningadomain

∙UserConfiguration.AllowstheconfigurationofthepasswordfortheAdministratorlocalbuilt-inuseraccountandotheraccountsthatwillbemembersoftheAdministratorslocalbuilt-insecuritygroup

∙Language.Allowstheselectionofthelanguagestobeinstalled,thetimeandcurrencyformats,thekeyboardlayout,andthetimezoneforthetargetcomputer

∙Volume.Allowstheselectionoftheoperatingsystemimagetodeploy,thevolumeonthetargetcomputerwheretheimagewillbedeployed,theexistingWindowsfolderthatisusedforbackingupuserstate,andifthetargetvolumeshouldbeformatted

∙InstallSoftware.Allowstheselectionofapplicationstobedeployedafterthedeploymentofthetargetoperatingsystemfinishes（TheapplicationsareselectedfromexistingSystemCenterConfigurationManagerpackagesandprograms.）

∙Summary.Containsalistofthevalueschosenfortheconfigurationsettingswhilecompletingthewizard

Eachofthesewizardpagescanbeenabled,disabled,orsettosilenttominimizetheamountofinformationrequiredforperformingthedeployment.Whenawizardpageissettosilent,thepagewillnotbedisplayedtotheuseraslongasallthevariablesforthatpageareset.

Foreachwizardpage,manyoftheconfigurationsettingscanbeassigneddefaultvaluesandbeenabledordisabledaccordingly.Formoreinformation,see"RunningtheOperatingSystemDeployment（OSD）SetupWizard"inUsingtheMicrosoftDeploymentToolkit.

∙UDIWizardDesigner.ThisconsoleallowsthecustomizationoftheOperatingSystemDeployment（OSD）SetupWizard.Theconsoleallowsgranularcontrolofthewizardpagesandconfigurationsettingsthatcanbechangedbythepersonrunningthewizard.Formoreinformation,see"ManagingUDIDeployments"inUsingtheMicrosoftDeploymentToolkit.

ImprovementsforLTIDeploymentsinMDT 2010Update 1

∙Improveddriverimportprocess.SomedriverINFfilesincorrectlyindicatethattheysupportboththex86andx64platforms,butinrealitytheysupportonlyoneoftheseplatforms.MDTnowhastheabilitytodetectthetruedriverplatform,overridingthevaluespecifiedindriverINFfiles.

∙Loggatheringenhancements.AbilitytocopyadditionallogfilestoSLSharefortroubleshooting.（SeeZTIUtlilty.vbsforthecompletelistoflogfilesbeingcopied.）

∙LTIWizardperformanceimprovement.TheLTIWizardnowtakeslesstimetoinitializeandshowsupfaster.

∙Issueinvalidatingconnectiontotheserverfixed.Inafewscenarios,MDT 2010usedtoreporttheerrormessage,"Aconnectiontothedistributionsharecouldnotbemade"whenatasksequenceisrun.TheMicrosoftSupportarticle,“ErrormessagewhenyouuseMDT2010:
